So I just won an auction on the bay for an Aristocrat. Here is a couple pics, did I do ok on this, prices for these seem to be a bit high. Picked this one up for $47 shipped. Obviously there is some wear, but it looks clean and they said it functions well.
$47 shipped sounds a tiny bit high, but then I haven't bought an Aristocrat in a while...It looks to be in really good condition except for that one door and just as important the case(the inside at least)looks to be in good shape... Aristocrats are my favorite non-adjustable TTO....I like them much better than SuperSpeeds... [Edit] From what I'm reading I take back my "tiny bit high" comment seems you did "VERY" well price wise..Either way I think you'll enjoy it and find it shaves well..
Yeah, all of the other Aristocrats online are way more expensive. Plus this one comes with the case, plus the gold blade case as well. I thought it was a good deal.
The way prices have gone up on razors, I would think that is not a bad price. Plus that is a very early Aristocrat.
Not a bad deal at all. Shine it up, place it back in the original case and you'll easy get $60-70 if you sell it
Based on what old Gillettes have been bringing the past couple of months, I'd say you got a pretty good deal on the set.
If it functions correctly, you did very well in today's market. If you don't like it you could flip it for a profit.
Thanks for the input gents, I plan on using using it for sure. I'll post some more pics once I get it and give it a cleaning of my own.
Well....Two things no notch on the center bar for Gillette dispensers and smooth top, no knurling on top of handle. Mine is a later one. Later Notch. Later Knurling.
I have only shaved twice with the Aristocrat. I used Personna Labs and really enjoyed the shaves. The shaves are so good I used the same razor for two days in a row, which is odd for me.
Nice, thanks guys. Well I think I did pretty good and I look forward to receiving this razor and taking it for a spin!
I think you did fantastic with the case, the age of the Aristocrat and the Blade Case. If it works smoothly and everything is tight Id be thrilled.
Well, doing some research today, turns out I think this one is a 1946-1947 post WWII Aristocrat. Got the tracking number today and I gotta say, I can't wait for this one to show up!
