2 hours until my weekend starts! Nothing wrong with that! And my son is flying in from SF this weekend. Haven't seen him since May. Just a little excited!

I got an injection for my chronic back pain today. (So, alas, my husband is not the only pain in my bum.) The shots are not fun, but I feel sooooo much better after I get it.

What are you getting? I'm on Percocet 7.5-352 but my doc is considering putting me on Butrans. Anyone try these?

Here in the UK Butrans is the propriety name for Buprenorphine! Which in this country is a controlled medication. It normally comes in patch form, like a nicotine patch, its normally placed on the patient and replaced ONCE weekly as a pain control.

The injection is cortisone, directly into my spine. This relieves the swollen disks for several months. The relief is not complete, but enough so that I can do without any drugs that make me too drowsy to drive, or are addictive. On a daily basis, I use Ultracet. This is done through a Pain-Management practice.

Tomorrow's the day! First Faire of the year! Profsaffel, TWGW, and I are all headed off to Troup, TX, home of the FourWinds Canterbury Festival! The theme this weekend is Vikings:susel: and Fantasy, so that means lots of potential for fur/chainmail bikinis and skimpy fairie costumes! There might even be some cute scantily clad women too!

But seriously this year, I've finally got a reason to take my pet griffin along! It's almost identical to the one in this video:

My only problem is, I dress up as a Sultan visiting from afar, which means I have to tie a turban... a rather involved task. I'm planning on doing some shopping for steampunk accessories, and hope to find a nice bowler, but it's going to be hard to try on hats if I can't take off my turban. I guess I'll figure it out, somehow.

Fur bikini, Micah?! Whoever told you that would be a good look should be shot. But, I guess whatever floats your boat. /scared

Yep that's what I'm talking about! Can you tell me anything about it? I'm looking for more functionability. It's controlled here as well.
Oh wow I wish ultracet worked for me. I was on Loratab 10 for a year and it suddenly gave me the bird and didn't work anymore. I was also on Nucynta which was absolute hell.

Buprenorphine (Butrans) is a self adhesive patch, used for moderate to severe pain in patients that are unresponsive to non-opioid analgesics to breakthrough pain.

Yeah, I understand that. Do you have any experience with it? I'm looking for functionality that percocet kinda takes from me. What's your opinion on Butrans?

Can I ask what Percocet is? And what you are being treated for?
