Survived spring break! We went to Hugo, Oklahoma and saw the Showman's Rest, a cemetery for circus people, ate at the Circus Diner (lots of circus memorabilia and great steak!), and went to the railroad museum where we saw the Harvey Girls' house--including a cool old barbershop with lots of neat old razors and bottles and stuff. Then we doubled back to Paris, TX and saw the Eiffel Tower (complete with red cowboy hat), stayed at a bed & breakfast, and did a little antiquing, and almost let myself get talked into buying a t-shirt printing business.

Then this weekend, we watched the 3D version of Wizard of Oz. Totally awesome! And I'm down to the last 3 episodes of Breaking Bad. I don't like how things are shaping up, and I know how it has to end, but I'm afraid it's going to fizzle miserably.

    So that was my week.

Oh yeah, and now for the shameless begging part:

TWGW and I are going to be participating in a pro-life walk with our church soon, and I'm looking for sponsors (it's not by the mile, just looking for donations of any size), if you are interested in contributing, please shoot me a PM.

I just wrote a condolence note to the parents of one of my students. Hardest thing I have ever had to do, as a teacher.

My thoughts are with you! Working in hospital as I do, unfortunately it's all part of the job, but it's never good for those left behind. Even now after all these years I still find it difficult to find the words!

So I do feel for, not just the close family, but all those that can be affected by one loss! Hang in there Sara, time will only make it easier to bare! It will never take your thoughts and feelings at this time, especially as a teacher of these young people, it must still be like loosing one of your own...
    Regards EG....

I received my package from Turkey today. Which was 2 #6 brushes and an aftershave balm. Absolutely the best $2.65 I've ever spent on shaving gear. The #6 is a fantastic brush! 12 days to arrive to California. Not bad. Also, I'll receive my TSD stores goodies this week. Life is grand.

Ahhh. Reminds me of my years spent in a Turkish prison. Fond memories indeed.

I had a surprise visit last night from a good friend that lives in Calgary. He's a fellow business strategist, and when we started talking he couldn't believe that I couldn't remember certain terms, etc. he and my wife told me that my job is making me dumber. After talking to him for about an hour my wife told me that I was back to my normal self.

After he left, I was questioned as to why I was "smarter" by the time he left; all I could think of was that my mind was being exercised again, whereas now it isn't because I'm the most educated person in the office.

Anyway, right now I'm looking for work again because I was given a lot of false promises about what I was going to do....it's a small company, and I think I'm done with small companies for ever!

A 'Great Escape' Day today for my wife and I as we leave the Nor Cal Bay Area and head inland to the 'California Gold Country' for a few days.
We'll be staying several nights at a quaint bed & breakfast near old town Nevada City. Plenty of sites to visit, local wineries, museums, etc.
In honor of my upcoming birthday, my wife has agreed to purchase for me any shaving-related item we come across in the vast number of antique shops in the area. Wish me luck! :happy036:
