Excellent shave today. This was my first use of Synergy Cavendish, and I must say it's a top notch soap. My HIS brush made plenty of slick cushioning lather that left me feeling moisturized. The Gillette yellow blades have never let me down, and in the SC101 it sang smooth and easy. I got a really nice BBS on my face and DFS on my neck. Krampert's Finest Bay Rum is always a great closer.

Prep: Shea Moisture Three Butters Scrub
    Soap: HTGAM Synergy Cavendish
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Gillette SE Yellow
Synergy Coconut Bay Butter Balm before ATG
    AS: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

    SUNDAY

Early shave, and a good one, on a busy day. Another great performance from the Barbasol FH, combined with the MdC glide, makes for a superb shaving experience. I wish all mornings could start like this!

    Have a blessed Sunday, all!

    Razor:
    Edwin Jagger DE8911
    Blade: Derby (D1)
    Brush: Niva Sintex Synthetic Brush
    Cream: Derby Lavender
    Cologne: Tariş Lavender

I had to have a quick shave this morning, so I tried face lathering with my new Niva synthetic brush, but it was hard to get a thick, proper lather with it. I had better shaves with rapira but this shave was also ok.

Prep: Warm wash with Stirling Barbershop
    Lather: IanSSoap Garage scent
    Brush: Stirling badger
    Razor: Merkur HD
Blade: Kroger store brand stainless steel
Post: Cold water rinse and Captain's Choice Bay Rum

22F and snowy outside and a quiet house on a Sunday morning, so I treated myself to a leisurely shave. I can't get over how the Merkur seems to just take any blade and give me a good shave. I also found my angle again and had no issues, except for a couple of weepers near my mustache but they sealed up with the first rinse. This is around my 5th use of IanS's homemade soap. I can only describe the scent as a garage - sort of grease and leather and smoke blended together in a nice way. The bay rum gives a nice sweet scent to the overall shave. The store brand razor blades are just fine, if a little over-priced at $2.59 for 5 blades. The brush continues to shed, but I like it a little more every use.

    Prep: CeraVe facial cleanser
    Soap: TSD unscented wheat cream
    Brush: Plisson synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Astra SP
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

I am taking a tour of my unscented soaps, using exactly the same hardware everyday.

Day 1: Tiki Bar unscented soap
    Day 2, 3: Mike's Natural unscented soap
Day 4: HTGAM Synergy unscented soap
Day 5: Petal Pusher Fancies "Scentsless soap
Day 6: Barrister & Mann unscented soap
Day 7: Mystic Water unscented soap
Day 8: The Shave Den unscented wheat cream

Pleasant shave with the TSD cream. I don't use creams very often, and the only one I have right now is this one. There are not many options for unscented creams. I used a little plastic ice cream spoon to scoop some cream into a bowl and then I whipped it up. Easily got a thick lather. The shave was comfortable, although I didn't get the slick creaminess I usually do with this product when I load it on the brush and face lather. Bowl lathering is not my normal method.

    Physical Description:

TSD Unscented Wheat Cream: a thick cream in a tub, white, very neutral scent.

This mornings shave was the first relaxing shave I have had in a long time. I actually got to finish my cup of coffee (I haven't been able to do that for two weeks!) and I'm ready to mow the new spring lawn on a Sunny cool morning. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Gentlemen! :happy108:

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot compress, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: VDH Scented
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (8, 9)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS

I opted for the boar today to change things up and give the Simpson more time to get completely dry. The VDH, bowl-lathered, produced more than ample thick, slick lather, and I intended to use it for the full 3-pass treatment. Unfortunately, yesterday's 'rounding into shape' quickly turned into 'starting to dull' on the blade, with a fair amount of irritation on the second pass, so I decided to stop at DFS and two passes. The menthol from the AV helped, but was definitely a 'delayed blast' of cool.
