    THURzDAY
    Tech Week

My one & only Tech for use this week (TECH-nically, I do have one other, but it is currently residing in my oldest son's den). This gold Tech—a recent antique store pick-up, is a fairly mild, easy-to-use razor, as are most other Techs I've used.
Three Tech passes with slick MdC lather = a DFS today!

    Have a great Thursday, all!

    Thanks, Mike!
I went with a 'western wood' theme with dramatic warm lighting as the content was mainly gold & earth tones.

Hi guys, I didn't post lately (well, for over a year that is) but I'm still around.
Settled down on the number of soaps and razors and brushes I use every week; one of each, to be exact.
    This is this weeks kit:

    Schick hydromagic
    Personna blade
    Semogue mixed boar/badger
    Proraso barbe dure
    Floid blue

Face lathered (as always), 3 passes, 12 minutes, DFS.

No shave today. A new blade will make an appearance tomorrow. My last few shaves have been close enough to warrant not shaving daily, plus I want a decent growth to to see what I have with the new razor.

    Thursday

    Prep: Clear Essentials glycerin soap
    Soap: Barrister & Mann unscented
Brush: Oscar11 with HIS synthetic knot
    Razor: Gillette fat-handled Tech
    Blade: Astra SP
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

Excellent shave. The B&M soap makes a creamy slick lather every time and the Tech gave me a close, comfortable shave. After using the Plisson brush exclusively for the past week and a half, the bigger heftier Oscar11 brush with the big soft HIS was great. I like the Plisson brush, but it is smaller and lighter with a less dense knot.

The Barrister & Mann soap was a gift from Kevin (HolyRollah) my TSD secret Santa last year. Talk about a gift that keeps on giving. This soap will definitely be re-ordered when this puck is used up.

My wife kissed me good bye this morning and remarked "oh, your face feels so nice" as she stroked my cheek! :D I'm smiling on my way to work!

Gillette Fat Handled Gold Tech w/Astra SP
    Al's Bomb SC - Boheme
    GT G4 Scuttle
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Gold Bond Moisturizing Lotion
    Aqua Velva Musk ASL/Cologne

I thought I'd better participate in the Tech Week Theme and after seeing Kevin's Gold Tech I got the urge to use mine. It took a little digging in the drawer but there she is. These are the best of the Tech's in my opinion; they shave well and are always a pleasure to use. A tried and true design!

    Razor: GEM Push Button (2)

    Brush: Semogue 830
    Lather: Synergy Cavendish

I don't have a Tech since I don't use DEs anymore but I have what is kind of the "tech" of the SE world- the GEM Push Button. It is very mild. Today is the best shave yet I've received from this razor. It's a matter of figuring out the technique for it. I received a BBS in only two passes (3 on chin) equivalent to the same results as with the ER 1924 and much faster. Proof mild razors can do just as well.

What purpose does the Cetaphil Lotion serve? Do you use it as a pre-shave lotion? Which specific one do you use? Thanks for your help.

Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

    Thursday

Preshave - Trumpers Sandalwood skin food
Proraso Sandalwood cream face lathered with TGN Boar in Ever-Ready 79 handle
Red Tip with Personna Lab (3)
3 passes, cold water rinse and finish with Lab Series Spray

I'll have to try the coral skin food as preshave next. I may get a bottle of one or the other. I think I use about 2 ml per shave (the 8 ml sample was 4 uses if I remember correctly) so:

    100 ml = 50 uses at $26 = 50 cents a shave
    200 ml = 100 uses at $40 = 40 cents a shave
    500 ml = 250 uses at $70 = 28 cents a shave
