Is this viable?

I'm thinking of melting some VDH down, adding some scent to it, maybe some cream or another soap and creating a new kind of soap. Does that work? Has anyone tried this before? Any suggestions?

I have done it. I added Williams Shaving Mug Soap, after I grated it up like you do Cheese. I also added 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil to it.

Good to know I'm not flying too close to the sun.

I'm also wondering about what may or may not work as a mix in. Some ideas I'm tossing around are after shave, cologne, or possibly some Dr. Bronner's Eucalyptus or Tea Tree Oil soap.

I've melted a full puck of VDH deluxe, and a couple of Col Conk's to add into it, and added some fragrance. It's all mixed and I've tossed it in the freezer to harden. I'm going to use this for tonight's shave. I'll let you know.

I hate the scent of VDH. I have melted it down and added aftershave to it to make it smell better.
I've had good luck with the following:
    Van der Velva
    Van der Spice

But you could add anything. Skin Bracer would probably be awesome.

It worked out pretty well. I added a Col Conk Lime and VDH deluxe and a bunch of Clubman Bay Rum. It worked out okay. Still don't like the smell, but it's slightly improved over either the lime or VDH standard smell.
