4/1/14 - No Foolin' Around Prep: warm wash with Stirling Barbershop Lather: Stirling Barbershop Brush: Vie Long 13061 Razor: Cadet short handle 3 piece open comb Blade: unidentifiable "Super Platinum" Post: cold water rinse and Aqua Velva First shave with the Cadet open comb and I think I like it! More aggressive than Merkur HD, but not scary like the Fatip. However, this razor feels substantial and the head does not feel hollow. 2 pass plus touch up with no nicks or weepers. I was in a bit of a hurry, so took less than 10 minutes to complete this shave.

Bigelow Brush: Semogue 830 Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman I haven't used C.O. Bigelow in a while, but it performed exceptionally well. I'm left with a very nice, BBS shave. Have a great day!
SOTD April 1 -- Blade safari day 57 Synthetic week day 2 Vacation Shave! Prep: hot shower Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki Tech Blade: Astra SP (day 1) Brush: Wilkinson Sword Soap: Margaritas in the Arctic Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) Post: Nivea Men cool kick Back to a morning shave. I was able to build up a nice lather with my Wilkinson Sword brush and MITA Soap, but it fell apart as soon as it got to my face.
TUESDAY Back to Work Day Tried something new this morning— the first 5-bladed razor designed and built by Gillette for women: the 'Venus Embrace.' I know what you're all thinking: "Can this new razor shave as well as my Lady Schick?" Well let me tell you, those pesky whiskers on my face didn't stand a chance against this goddess of a razor! Just as Sherman plowed through Atlanta, this Venus Embrace tackled with ease any stubborn growth that dared defy it! The lilac-scented Coochy Body Rashfree cream provided the perfect cushion for this morning's regimen, and resulted in a true baby bottom smooth face! A refreshing 'Feel So Pretty' splash sealed the deal and got me ready for the day! Have a great Toozday, all! And Happy April 1st!
Dove Men's Face Wash Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap Parker Black Badger Gillette NEW Voskhod Teflon Coated (1) CWR Thayers Cucumber WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue The Col. Conk Bay Rum shave soap face lathered very well with the Parker black badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette NEW and a new Voskhod Teflon Coated blade left me near BBS. The Voskhod blades have performed great for the first shave so far. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

TUESDAY Back to Work Day (an amendment to my previous SOTD posting) In reality, I truly did get a near-BBS shave, but using these items—not those in my previous post.
No joking here, I've seriously fallen in love with la toja stick. It's creamy, slick, it lasts, and smells great. I had a serious decision to use lilac aftershave or something with menthol to complement this spring morning. The merkur slant is a couple weeks old and I love it. Tuesday Prep: Clear Essentials glycerin soap Soap: Cella Brush: Burma Shave handle with TGN synthetic knot Razor: iKon ShaveCraft Blade: Astra SP After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion My synthetic brush of the day is a Burma Shave that I re-fitted with a TGN 21mm synthetic knot. I like this handle but I wish the knot had more loft. I haven't used Cella soap in a very long time, and I really like the way it performs. I am cautious about using it very often because my face reacts to fragrances. But I'm doing fine so far today. Excellent shave.
