Leif is Scandinavian Vallon I'm not sure. I actually named him after Priest Vallon from Gangs of New York.
Good day today. I had upgraded some archery gear recently and was able to sell some of the older gear on the bay.
For the record, I'm aware that Leif is a totally legit name, it's just the way he presented it, however, made it appear as though the pronunciation in conjuction with "Vallon" was meant to be humorous. If I'm not mistaken, Rich was thinking as I was and was trying to figure out what "the joke" was. Apparently I (we?) read the wrong meaning in it. Sorry if I sound a bit crabby/persnickety/touchy. It's nothing personal, I assure you. I've had a bad week. Our server is still down at work, I've had to hand it over to other "more experienced" hands, and I'm anxious.
I stumbled over figuring out the name Vallon (if there was some meaning, or what). In other news, Drake Bell (some tweeny actor, according to my niece) is going to name his first kid "Taco." Kids today.
I see you're bit o' happiness and I raise you: Run, run rabbit run Dig that hole, forget the sun And when at last the work is done Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one For long you live and high you fly But only if you ride the tide And balanced on the biggest wave You race toward an early grave -Pink Floyd, Breathe.
It's a sad time in my house. Our beloved dog of 11 years who had been suffering with seizures, was put down last night. Petie will be missed.
The boss lady asked me to bring Gunnar in for a visit today. Got a nice pic of him. It may be hard to see, but over the past few years, I have gotten him down from 12.8 lbs to 6.7 lbs.
I completely understand. I have two that are both seniors now and I am not looking forward to it myself.
Sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved pet can be heart-wrenching. Having had to put down two sweet dogs over the past 5 years well before their time (both had incurable illnesses), I try to guard my heart with my current doggie—Lola—but it is a losing battle. She's won me over big time. I do know that great danes have a relative short time with us (8-10 years on avg), so I still have 5-7 years of enjoying her delightful company.
Rained like crazy this AM, but it is still a beautiful day. Finished the taxes last night (early this morning). Don't have to mess with that for another year. Also had Geek Squad come out and set up the new lap top and wireless router. Then topped it off with nice hot shower and a shave. Life is good. Dave
Woke up to wet heavy snow falling this morning. Believe me, it is welcomed here in the land of perpetual drought. This will mean that the local chili peppers may be a touch milder this year! And, my weekend starts in less than 3 hours! Woohoo!
