    Monday

    Prep: CeraVe cleanser
    Soap: Mike's Natural, unscented
    Brush: Mühle black fiber synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft
    Blade: Gillette SharpEdge yellow
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

Another great shave! The Mühle black fiber performs well despite the relatively small knot size. The handle is attractive, but in practical terms, the weight and shape make it a little harder to hold than I would like.

5/8 Robeson Shuredge 1505, Full Hollow, Spike Point
    Proraso PSC
    Tabac SC
    GT G4 Scuttle
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Gold Bond Moisturizing Lotion
    Aqua Velva Musk ASL/Cologne

Polished out the Robeson yesterday and ran it through the hones. It's a great performer and I was virtually BBS in one pass! I completed the usual three passes but, only because I was enjoying the smooth shave so much I didn't want to stop. I also polished and re-honed the other three new arrivals so they are "ready for their close-up Mr Demill". lol I also picked up an ERN (I told ya I went crazy!) on the bay but, it was a blade only and none of my spare scales would fit so, I also ordered a set of blank scales which I will use for the ERN rescale. And we always say we started wet shaving to save money. Yeah! ;)

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo
    Blade: Bolzano (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Menthol Vanishing Cream ASB
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

I wish I knew what went wrong. My prep was fine, the blade I prefer in the FaTip was set properly, my lather was thick enough and stable enough, and yet my neck looks like I shaved with a weed-whacker. None of my post-shave applications seemed to do much in abating the blood flow, either. I may not be shaving tomorrow.

Well, Bruce, I do tell my wife that I AM saving BIG money by buying razors, soap and other shaving gear. It is surely less expensive than spending $$$ on other hobbies such as custom-made guitars and high-end audio gear. ;)

    She is not convinced. :ahem:

Arko performed very well...scent is meh but not terrible....I could use this....especially for the price.

Personna Med Prep blade was awesome..
very smooth . ..I usually use Astra SP and love them....but I just may lay in a supply of these as well!!

Thanks Stroker! The seller didn't specify but it looks very good to new, I feel lucky to get a Fatboy in such nice condition. It was expensive but I didn't pay more than a hundred.

This razor is easily my favorite razor in my rotation! I set it on 5, sometimes 6.

    Monday:
    hot shower
    Somersets Tough Stubble PSO
    Gem 1912 Travel 2+ passes
    Personna Gem (1)
    VDH Deluxe boar
Treatments Eucalyptus cream (by Hunter Amenities) in an Old Spice mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Canoe EDT splash (sample)

Another early shave today and a very late posting. No picture of today's gear except this photo of the razor when I picked it up a few months ago. I'm not 100% but it's a very good possibility that today was this razor's 1st ever shave. Nifty little travel kit like yesterday's Gillette but a longer handle and plenty more heft to shave more like a regular razor. I don't do as well with an SE as I do with a DE so despite getting a good shave it wasn't without a little redness at the bottom of my neck.
Couple of interesting notes today: When I packed this razor it was only because I wanted to use a travel razor while traveling not realizing that I would have an SE razor in hand on the first day of SE week. Next, I was pleasantly surprised to find a cute little .7 oz tube of Eucalyptus shave cream with the hotel amenities just in time for Menthol Monday. It had a light and pleasant smell and just enough menthol to qualify but way short of anything Jeff uses. What really dawned on me after thinking about it was how popular wet shaving has become if hotels are starting to feature shave cream that you can lather with a brush. I suppose you could just apply it directly without lathering but I was able to make a very nice lather without much effort.
