    Hi Friends,

today i had a shave with mixed feelings.

    -Prep: hot towel
    -Shaving soap: Alvarez Gomez (Sample)
-Razor: Gießen & Forsthoff Open Comb
    -Blade: ZAZA // Astra SP
    -Brush: Semogue "Barbear Classico Texugo"
    -Aftershave: SavRon "Gentleman Club"

Like i said, i had mixed feelings. I startet shaving with the ZAZA blade. After a few strokes (where i thought the blade is very sharp),i came to my chin area...here the blade startet pulling and tugging the hairs...i tried to shave the whiskers off,but NOTHING...i switched the blade and shaved now with my USED Astra SP blade. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! The Astra went through my whiskers like a hot knife through butter. Heavenly. From this time on,the shave was kind of like a ZEN-Shave.

Hope all of you are fine and have a wonderful time.

    Take care of you.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave Balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: RazoRock Cumba Cheech Jasmine & Orange Blossom
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo
    Blade: Bolzano (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech Jasmine & Orange Blossom Lotion
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Once again, a mild tremor curtailed my shave. Extra light pressure on my face produced pretty DFS results in two passes, but a slight slip caused by a tremor nicked my neck on the WTG pass, and then again on the XTG. I decided not to press my luck shaving ATG near the jugular with that particular track record for the morning, so settled for DFS face, SAS neck and a very strongly jasmine-themed fragrance du jour.

    Saturday:
    hot shower
    Maggard Lime PSO
    Frog straight 1 pass
    PAL Adjustable 2 passes
    Schick (1)
    Tweezerman HIS Deluxe badger
De Vergulde soap in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    alum
    Pinaud Clubman Lilac Vegetal AS

Late Saturday afternoon shave yesterday. Tried using the PAL Adjustable again. This time with a good blade and got much better results. I probably need a few more shaves with it to figure out the proper angle but all in all it gave me a good finish to my shave today. I only did one pass with the straight because I had to wear a white dress shirt to an event last night and I didn't need to stain the collar. First time with the De Vergulde and made a real nice lather but the Tweezerman doesn't want to give it up without a squeeze. A little alum to keep a couple weepers from leaking and the fresh spring scent of Lilacs made for a fine ending.

    Sunday

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
Soap: Los Angeles Shaving Soap-Woody Lavender
    Razor: Gillette Slim
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip-22mmx48mm
Aftershave: Pino Silvestre AS & EdT

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

I wanted to follow up the last MdC shave with the LASS Woody Lavender. LASS soaps are excellent and can hold their head high against MdC. I really like the Woody Lavender scent (and the lower price relative to both MdC and the other LASS soaps). I finished up with Pino.

    Amazing shave
In a word, wow. In an acronym, BBS - face and neck. No irritation or weepers. Today was my first go with the Plisson synthetic brush, and I've got so say it was excellent. It feels different from my HIS - softer, less backbone, smaller - but it rivals the HIS in performance. I'm not ready to call it either way, but the Plisson is a quality brush. I almost couldn't feel it on my face while I lathered my Tabac, and it easily whipped up the yogurt slickness I prefer.
My SC101 smoothly mowed my two days of growth... A factor not lost on me - I almost always get a better shave if I can do it every other day, but that does not happen during the week. The real test will come tomorrow and in subsequent days.
I also used Kiehl's face fuel for the first time, and I'm impressed. It goes on smooth and clean... Like Jack Black Nourishing Oil, only at half the price. The face fuel does not feel oily at all, and has caffeine, so it may not be for everyone. I really like it, but it would be hard to part with my Krampert's.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM pre-shave soap
    Soap: Tabac!
    Brush: Plisson Synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Gillette SE Yellow (2)
AS: Kiehl's Facial Fuel Energizing Tonic

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
Razor: EJ DE89 Head w/ Weber Classic Handle
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue (1)
    Cream: Arko Ice Mint
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Old Spice

If every shave could be this perfect, I would be one happy man. I have had very few shaves that were this good and this easy. I'm ready for church.

    Have a great day!

Lately I've been shaving mostly with soaps and it's not fair in a way because I've been neglecting some excellent creams which I have. The Solo Menthol cream (it's made in eastern Europe, I believe) is not very cooling at all - in fact the menthol effect is barely noticeable, but it smells sporty and nice with terrific lather and skincare. I washed my face with the Neutrogena to get a good, strong menthol kick and the Svoboda balm felt cool and soothing, and finally the Penguin put a potent freeze in my face which can almost compete with the Rubby Dubby Doo. Another great BBS shave. ;) :D
