Had three days of beard so decided today is 100% Vintage Shave Day.

    '20s Ever-Ready flip top SE
    '50s PAL carbon
    '50s Ingram menthol cream
'60s (maybe '70s) Rexall San Remo "splash cologne" (the typical aqueous frag of that period but with a green, grassy note, slight powdery drydown...unusual, but good...might actually have been meant for ladies)

2 pass BBS. Serious blade drag started toward end of first pass. A quick strop on my overall's leg between passes worked wonders.

As fun as SE shaving can be..."interesting" might be a better word when using carbons...switching back to a DE with a mild stainless blade is truly blissful.

    Smooth and easy
Today I went with an easy two pass shave to try out the Tre Citta. I think I used too much water at first, and did not build the lather long enough on my face. Consequently, the lather was a little thin. Not enough to diminish the shave, but the lather improved on my next pass. The scent is as described - woodsy with a pleasant menthol note. I think Ferox provides a better face feel, due to the Shea butter and lanolin, but Tre Citta is no slouch. Krampert's Finest Frostbite was the perfect finish to this comfortable shave.

Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol pre-shave soap
Soap: Barrister & Mann Tre Citta First Snow
    Brush: Plisson Synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna Med Prep (1)
    AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite

Two passes with the straight(WTG, XTG). One ATG pass with the DE.
Went back to using both the straight and the DE. Did not need to, as the straight was working quite well, but to be honest, I missed the DE. The straight is awesome, and I love using it. But I started out in the '70s with the DE, and the DE is what drew me back. It calls to me.
They are both great, and thankfully I don't have to choose. I can use them both.
Dorco is still sharp, but I can feel it's pretty much done, so time for a new blade tomorrow.
    Have a great shave, all!

    Hoy shower
Prep: Lime & Tea Tree PSO
    Brush: Simpson Duke 3
Soap: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
    Razor: Mekur 39C
    Blade : Personna Red (4)
    Post: Nivea Sensitive
    Aftershave: Pinaud Lime Sec

3 pass, DFS, but I think that the Personna Red is dead. Two weepers on shave #4 was the indicator.

    Schick M Adjustable
    Schick Injector Stainless Blade

The TOBS Lavender shaving cream face lathered well with my Semogue 1305 boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with my Schick M adjustable with a Schick Injector blade left me with a clean comfortable shave. After the cold water rinse, I finished off with Dickinson's WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave.

Kevin thanks for the light box thread. I have been having fun with my cheap light box. I didn't have a very big box or tissue paper. That is just copier paper in a small box. But I am getting some good pictures out of my phone.

Razor Erusta 96 Boehlersteel full hollow 13/16
    Strop Kanayama Cordovan #8000
Brush Custom Le Tuft Blue 8
    Soap TFS Begamot & Neroli

I don't often comment on my shaves but I must say the Erusta 96 Boehlersteel is without doubt one of the finest razors I have ever shaved with the equal to any I have in my collection including Filarmonica's Puma's Dubl Duck Henckels or my Japanese straights.

    Hi Friends,

first of all i want to wish all of you

    :wave:Happy Easter:wave:

Today i had my very first Shavette shave. For this i used the following equipment:

    -Prep: hot towel
    -Soap: Alvarez Gomez
    -Brush: Semogue "Barbear Classico Texugo"
-Shavette: Feather Artist Club SS (lend from a friendly member in our german forum)
    -Blade: Feather Light
    -Aftershave: SavRon Gentleman Club

Nice. Not as thoroughly as i hoped, but for the first time it was more than ok. I did a 2-pass shave with the shavette (with and across the grain). For the 3rd (against the grain) pass,i took my Fatip Piccolo
(loaded with a Personna Med.Prep blade).

I like shaving with a shavette. It´s a complete different feeling. Like that a lot. In these days a custom straight razor will be build for me. :happy093:I will show it here when it (hopefully) arives in the next weeks.

So take care of you and have a fantastic time.

    Greetings
    Thorsten
