Frederick Reynolds, full hollow, shave test of a friend's razor I breadknifed the chips from and honed on Naniwa German Palmera ( Jose Lopez Sevilla/Ferd Herberz
SSA (swedish) PPF Amber Homemade badger, 30mm knot Absolutely nothing fancy here except the way this Swede shaves, excellent. Very nice shave this morning. Have a good one.
Same razor as yesterday's (see#463 above), but used a different soap (XXX vs MdC) & brush = still a great shave! Not bad for a $14 razor!
It just goes to show you "the best things in life are free" or almost in this case. I never ceases to amaze me how good some of these old razors shave.
Sunday 4/27/2014 Newly Acquired 4/8" Severin French Point Straight A cleaning and light hand polishing. 40 Laps with Green Compound, 40 passes on the strop, and this baby was shave ready and as she sits. A very well taken care of razor.
6/8 Nev-A-Hone TOBS Sandalwood SC homemade brush, Omega 10810 knot Well, I actually thought the scales (color is called jelly roll) where a good idea at the time, not so much anymore. Don't know much about the razor but it's made in Sheffield and is a very good shaver.
See now my initial impression on the scales is I like them. In fact I do like them and was going to comment on them ironically enough. Its actually a bit unusual for me as I am usually a bit conservative when it comes to scales and what I like. Beautiful brush also BTW.
