Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

Just finished Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. I saw the movie and liked it even though it was a very low budget movie. The book is even better though, they had to simplify the storyline for the movie. I ordered a couple of more Dean Koontz books, I like his writing style.

I get that . I got my D.Min. at a small school and focused on worship and liturgy.. taught pastoral theology and preaching for the Nazareth for a while.

Very nice. I taught worship, evangelism, ethics, and preaching at our regional lay-pastor institutes. I had a blast doing that.

I loved it. IT was a lot of fun to watch newbie preachers develop and to help with that process in both worship leadership and preaching.

That guy is a little touched. Some cool stuff in his books though. I've read a couple of his books and learned some things.

Just finished Bram Stoker's Dracula. As with Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, I think the book is much better than any of the resulting movies. I'm now onto Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. (I'm reading all the classics I should have read 20 years ago. Any suggestions?)

In periods I read like a maniac. Mostly I read true crime since a few years back. Right now I am reading Galveston by Nic Pizolatto. Just started it but it seems promising.

I am a teacher so I have been forced fed classics when I went to the university. The one that pops up in my mind and stands head and shoulders above the rest is Crime and Punishment. It's an absolute must to read.

That whole series is great. I believe the final book comes out in December.

I just finished reading "The Lives of Tao" & "The Deaths of Tao" by Wesley Chu. Fun, fast-paced reads.

I suggest Beowulf for a really old classic, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man for a classic of more recent vintage.

I read that one about 20 years ago. I can't follow Russian narratives.

I'm saving the newest Destroyermen book on my kindle for my next vacation. I always make the mistake of reading them too fast and then having to wait an entire year for the next one...at least Taylor Anderson is consistent about getting his new books out in a fairly timely fashion. I still say the Destroyermen books would make a perfect HBO series..along with the Off Armageddon Reef series.

I'm not sure which you have and haven't read. Pretty much the entire High School reading list from 30 years ago was full of greats. To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, Grapes of Wrath, any Hemingway short story, Lord of the Flies, Catcher in the Rye and Catch 22 are all books of have re-read fairly recently as well as having "read" them in High School. As an older and wiser (mostly older) man, I have come to appreciate these books quite a bit more in my aged years. The Great Gatsby is probably the most surprising for me. I hated that book in HS and never finished it. After reading it about three years or so ago, I discovered that it is a fantastic read. Go figure. Seems like you would have read these during HS though.

A Clockwork Orange is a pretty great read. Don't get put off by the slang used, it seems impenetrable at first but soon in, you are able to figure things out fairly easily.
