First shave with my new Above the Tie Atlas M1 razor. Other players included a Muehle 23mm STF V2 Synthetic brush, Personna Lab Blue blade, Anthony Pre-shave oil, HTGAM Synergy Cavendish soap, Kiehl's After Shave balm, and liberal applications of a styptic pencil. Liked the shave, very close and is lasting very well some 12 hours later. However, I used some pressure and was rewarded with a number of weepers. No noticeable razor burn, and the closest shave I've had on my neck. But I need to work on pressure and angle. Like the razor very much so far.
I do not see why it would not. I use it in all of my mugs, I also use some 1.5 cup Glad food containers that I have some Shaving Soaps in and every one of my brushes work fine and fit in them all.
What do you think of your Above the Tie Atlas M1 razor, and is it part of a 5 piece set or the 7 piece set?

Many people don't understand how predator animals will stay with a flock for months and can decimate it in short order. Stay vigilant and armed when you are with the the goats because cougars are very intelligent and opportunistic.
So far, I like it. I bought it as the solo M1, as my birthday last week found me with just enough to buy the basic Atlas set. I joke that my two favorite colors are camouflage and stainless, so this razor fits my aesthetic. I'm not absolutely positive I like the knurling, and may replace the handle at some point, either with a RazoRock SLAB or a Weber. I've wondered if I shouldn't have bought an R1 to keep me from putting too much pressure on my face. Reasons for buying this razor: My unholy love of stainless My materials/metallurgy degree and experience has me favoring milled over cast whenever possible I try to buy local when I can, and ATT is about 90 miles from my house I had the money, and a Weber would be a much easier "impulse" purchase in my monthly budget At my birthday dinner, my wife told me she'd started reading Atlas Shrugged again. I figured it was a sign. What is interesting for me is that in all of my hobbies, I get torn between cutting-edge and vintage. In fly fishing I waffle between waxed cotton and Gore-Tex. Bamboo and Graphite. In guitars, I waffle between modern Metal guitars and vintage Stratocasters. I saw the ATT razor as a vintage razor made with the best of modern materials and technology. We'll see how it works out long-term.

Sorry to hear about your goat. My mother in law over in Cave Junction had two of her sheep killed earlier this week and she thinks it may be wild dogs if not a cougar. My brother in law is driving down this weekend from Lake Oswego to try and catch or kill the culprit.

I know a number of guys from Cave Junction and they are having a big problem there. I wish your brother in law good luck in finding what ever is the culprit. I have lost two sheep and two goats to them. I think this last one was a Coyote with the way it was killed and not moved. I got him last night when he can back to finish the carcass. (A big male coyote) He was bigger than the little goat. Good hunting.
Nice shooting Bruce. I hate coyotes. Now there is one less to cause mayhem in the world. Sorry about your goats.
5/16/14 - Head Shave Of The Day Final lather with @Dr. Tim Wilkins' homemade Bay Rum soap. Prep: Hot shower and scalp wash with Stirling Barbershop Brush: Vie-Long 13061M horsehair Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech Blade: Feather Hi Stainless (3) Post: Cold water rinse and Proraso Green aftershave 2 passes and pretty smooth. I think the Gillette has been waiting for me to try a Feather blade to show me what it can do. I think I may be in love!
Not a very good shave today. Prep: hot shower, Neutrogena Face Wash. Brush: Oscar11 Custom Grade A badger brush. Razor: Gillette Aluminum Tech Blade: Gillette Super Thin from Thailand. Soap: Palmolive stick. Post: cold water rinse, Dickinson Witch Hazel, Myrsol Emulsion. I don't think the Gillette Super Thin blade is for me. It worked greatly on my face but went to crap when I got to my neck for the second pass. My neck between my chin and Adam's apple is sore and irritated. The Myrsol Emulsion will clear that up. It's good for stuff like that. The Gillette Aluminum Tech was the first razor I ever bought. It's a great performer when it's paired with the right blade.
Thanks for the review and your thoughts. I like my Weber I might get another Weber 3 piece and maybe another Classic Handle. I tried putting my Weber Classic Handle on my Gold Tech Fat Handle and my Tech with the ball handle it worked pretty good. So maybe I might try one of the Gillette Tech's with my Weber Classic Handle.
