This quote belongs in every out house, elevator, school book, cafeteria, park, concert hall, website and government office in America. Outstanding.
Man. I had 4 packages that were suppose to be delivered to me today. Well 3 made it. Now trying to get USPS to figure out where the 4th is. Impossible!! Luckily my wife's anniversary present made it.
I think she is. She got some rest and some medicine. It wasn't a heart attack, thank God, she has had 2 in the past, so we were worried. She also has lupus, and seizures as a symptom of the lupus as if things weren't complicated enough, so it was a very scary ordeal. Some others from church brought supper to her family yesterday, so she got to relax a little. Her landlord is a real jerk, though. He cussed out one of our deacons for "driving too fast" down the lane (he was driving 8mph, like the sign said) and then texted our friend "You better slow your visitors down or you can find a new place to live." He frequently cuts her water off for no apparent reason, and only lets her do 2 loads of laundry a week. She has 3 kids at home. And to add insult to injury, he sends her a daily bible verse by text. She asked that everyone praying for her health to improve also pray for her landlord's heart to be softened. She may be a new convert, but she has sure reminded me of a powerful lesson.
If I were her I would document it all. He can't limit what she does.... she's paying the bills. I'd be calling Judge Judy
I had a pretty good day. As of today, I am officially old enough to retire, which I will do, in about 5 more weeks.
Aaaand we're back in the ER. Been here since about 8:30, but the stuff they're doing seems to be helping her breathe a bit better. Landlord told her today that he noticed she hadn't been to work in 2 days, and had better get her lazy butt back to work and pay her rent on time. When we went to pick her up tonight, he gave us the stink eye. I guess our car doors were too loud. And to top it off one of her bosses told her if she misses too many more days, she'll lose her job.
Would anyone care to hear more from the ongoing saga of ER friend? Or should I just stick with "I managed to make it to work today."
