don't even have the energy to say it loud.

yesterday was our 16th anniversary, but hardly got to see each other at all, on top of that the evening was filled with the glorious sounds of the middle school bands concert (really, actually was quite good). I would be there anyway, since our daughter is in two of the bands that performed, but I also had to work it (sound, lights), so I had to be there for the full event, which negated our opportunity to go out and eat (but we at least did have a 15 minute lunch together window).
Then get home and check the mail.
Y'all may remember me mentioning a couple months back having a tooth extraction. It's needed to be done for months, but more than we could afford. Then tax return came in, got it done. On three separate occasions they assured me after insurance it would cost me between $120 and $130. And indeed, the day of it, they gave me the bill of $128, which I paid.

Now, about two months later, a lovely envelope awaited in the mailbox. Opened it up and discovered a lovely little heart-attack-in-a-folded-paper-mailing-apparatus.....obviously insurance wasn't finished thoroughly screw us, so we now owe nearly $300 for it.....thank you for the anniversary gift, crappy useless insurance people, you made our anniversary night lovely.

No idea how we're going to pay it, the most they offer is a 3 month payout period, told them I can't even pay that out in 15 months, and probably longer depending on what happens this summer.

Some other non-trivial things occurred yesterday as well, which really helped us enjoy the evening.

Sad day in our household. We had to have our boy cat, Rowdy, euthanized. (Please forgive me for not using any of the standard acceptable euphemisms.) We had him for 9 years. He was diagnosed with cancer just three weeks ago. I'm not ashamed to say I cried like a baby.

Finished the first phase of pouring concrete for a parking pad and sidewalk. Banged up my finger with a sledgehammer in the process.
