That's it! From what I could gather. I was a bit shaky on the green. Looks like some night putting for me.
Our 10 (almost 11) year old came in very excited today. "I found a raccoon nest!" So we went and checked it out. This photo was taken peering down into an old irrigation well house. There are 4 babies down there. Momma was somewhere else at the time.
Sad day. I resigned a month ago and today was my last day at work. I thought I was braced for impact until I received some unexpectedly emotional and touching goodbyes from a few people. A lot of laughs, too. But was a long drive home. A door in my life that was open for eight years is now closed; at least it closed gently.
Yep. Even on the way home, I found myself already remembering good things when I knew there were plenty of recent, not-so-good that could've easily been called to mind. May it always be so.
I got to teach my colleagues how to make rolled beeswax candles, at today's department meeting. (This is an activity I do, with the students, as a lab.) The teachers seemed to like it as much as the kids had.
Currently in Las Vegas... weather is perfect and ... I'm celebrating 45 years on God's Green Earth. Interestingly enough, the day began with a bloodless shaving accident, the result of which is that my goatee is now a disconnected moustache with chin puff. I might just keep it... it looks good, I think. Waiting on feedback from family when I get home.
A follow-up to my Post#17: After a visit to the orthopedic surgeon, I am now scheduled to go in for a 'nerve test' (test the median nerve function) which check for nerve damage. IF there is damage, THEN surgery is considered. I did, however, get a nice cortisone injection into the wrist which in 2-5 days should diminish some of the chronic discomfort. Next appt is early July....
