Are there any? Anything I could find by Googling was old.. like 2007 old. Is there anything like that going on these days? I think that would be awesome to attend...

That looks really cool! Though a little steep for me. But hey I'm cheap. :)

For a convention, those prices are dirt cheap! Especially the hotel. And you get a spouse admission for $20? Unheard of.

But, I'm cheap too, and while I like to read ya'alls posts, and hear your ideas, I have no idea what a weekend of shaving is like, and I don't think I want to. hahahaha

I don't know about shaving conventions, honestly this is the first I've ever heard of. It could be comparatively expensive. I have been to a few comic and horror movie conventions though. 'Cheap' for those is about $60/day with $200-300 a night hotel rooms. The last one I paid for was in 2004 and not including airfare cost me about $1200 Fri-Sun room/admission and food. Now, I volunteer at Rose City Comic Con (home town show), get free admission, stay at home and bring my own food.

There are straight razor conventions all over the country. We just had one in April in Asheville, North Carolina. People came from Minnesota to Texas. You meet a lot of nice people, learn a lot and get to meet the people who started the renaissance of wet shaving straight razor-wise, at least. Also, razor makers, strop makers and soap makers show up. Lots of free stuff to try as well. Get a group of people together in your area, send some emails/PM's, makes some calls, set up your own convention in your area.

No admission costs, if you set it up right. A guy in my group has a boss who let us use his business space. You can get group rates for inexpensive hotels.

From what three brick and mortar stores have told me, this is far and away the biggest sector of traditional wetshaving. It is good to hear it is still so popular! I really do need to learn how to use a straight.

I expect the Clubman booth at these conventions to be well-populated.

I think we should organize a DE, SE, convention Montreal. Montreal is a very international city with a great sense of community.

Maybe one of the trade fairs would be willing to host an event wherein manufacturers could interface directly with their customers? At the very least, it would help promote consumer awareness of traditional wetshaving and its associated vendors. Think of it as The Great Shave or The Big Shave West on steroids. Both those events were centered around a single retailer, and designed to promote sales exclusively for the sponsoring store. To find out the names and contact info of the trade fairs, perhaps ask Edwin Jagger, Simpsons or Van Der Hagen or some other manufacturer if they know of any. Since manufacturers would already be attending, any additional expenses would be minimized.

That might be the most feasible approach. Perhaps we could approach a brick-and-mortar store to see if they would be willing to host the event?
