    Ok fellas,

And the next custom is a little homage to my all time favourite straight razor the Wade & Butcher barbers use wedge.

This one (and everything from now on) is made from O1 tool steel and is 10/8” wide and 5mm (just over 1/8”) across the spine.

I managed to get it heat treated today and as everybody was occupied in my house and didn’t need me I started the final grind so it’s nearly ready for polishing.

The other one will be up next week (hopefully).

    Comments are as always welcome.

Such elegant curves, but how do you hone it with that much curve to the blade edge?

Hey HollyRollah, when did you set up a spy cam in my workshop? Any way I only use the wheel for my big razors;)!

Thanks Mr Oldschool I don't seem to have a problem honing razors with smiles, this one I've honed up already (still waiting for my horn to turn up!!!) it was already able to take the hair off my arm before I put it near my stones so it was fairly easy. I did use 10 layers of tape to lift the spine and rocked the blade slightly from tip to heal as I moved it up and down the stone, that seams to work. the bevel depth is about 1.5mm and is fairly uniform along the length of the edge, it does grow a little at the heal but not by much.
So I'll get the scales made and on tomorrow and I'll post photos once it's finished.

Here we are then, all finished and ready to throw to the wolf's (eBay!!!).
I'm very happy with how it's turned out, and I'm giving it a test shave tonight, so if I don't report tomorrow send an ambulance!!!
I used natural horn, lead wedge and large collars.

I just gave it a test drive with four days of growth (I've been saving it up) and one stroke down and one up and it went through it like a champ! very, very happy with it.

Awesome looking piece! Do you still mark your creations so in 100 years someone can restore your razor and be like "man did you see this sweet find??"
