I know this thread is a bit old, but thought I'd add to it. Here's the coconut shaving bowl I created about a week ago. It's 3" in depth, with an opening just under 5". I've included a photo with my Omega Pro 49 to give perspective. Love the bowl and it helps build a lather like a beast! I also used the cut-off top to hold my wife's and my razors (Lord L6 and EJ De89, respectively).

The professor could make a battery charger out of a coconut. But he couldn't patch a hole in a boat.
