    WEDNESDAY
My first shave this morning with a 13/16 razor that has just returned from Glen's shop (GemstarCustoms.com). The blade on this old Frederick Reynolds Faux Frame back had been severely abused and 'breadknifed' (put through a kitchen knife sharpener?) to the point there was no way I could salvage it. Thanks to Glen's persistent efforts, however, the blade finally took a decent edge (after over a dozen attempts) and was deemed 'shave-worthy.' The result? A very smooth shaving experience: three passes with no resistance or tugging; no rawness or harshness. Quite enjoyable. What I found most revealing after a shave using this razor's keen edge was the tremendous difference that exists when an expert hones a razor versus my undeniable feeble attempts to hone. Night & day. My takeaway for this morning's shave are these two tidbits: this hefty razor is now quite usable (thank you, @gssixgun ), and I seriously need to practice and continue to refine my own honing techniques. :)

    Have a blessed day, all!

I am still liking the Platinum very much. I may have to look for a decant. I'm very curious about Freedberg, too. If it's a match I'll have to grab some of that, too.
So many things to buy... I have so much soap already! :)

    Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech
    Blade: Super Iridium (1)
Lather: Geo F Trumpers Spanish Leather
    Post: Maggard Razors Alum
    After Balm: Dove Men's Revitalize

I was a chin hair away from BBS. The biggest lesson I've learned is not the chase the baby. It was my first time using a Super Iridium and I was quite impressed. I will have to shave with it again in a couple of days to get a firm opinion. It was sharp from the get go, it provided a close shave with little irritation (my neck is a Pansy). I would certainly purchase a pack of these to give them a more evaluated whirl. A great shave.

~ Mühle R89 Jet loaded with an Astra Superior Stainless on two.
~ Vintage Austrian made Kingsley badger brush to bowl lather the Mühle Aloe shaving cream.
~ Clinique moisturizer followed by Clubman Bay Rum after shave.

With the exception of yesterday I haven't used the R89 Jet much in the last several months. After trying to come up with a reason different than I just have a ton a razors as to why, I can only say that I think I've just been in too big of a hurry. And would grab one of the razors I had in the bathroom as opposed to the linen closet. What an awesome razor that I feel very fortunate to have.

The Astra Superior Stainless blade is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. The cost is hard to beat and the durability just works for me. I wouldn't say that it's my favorite blade but, it's really growing on me.

I also have not used this cream in quite a while so I really should have worked a little more water in the mix but it did it's job just fine. I really recall it being a top notch performer every other time I've used it but it just didn't strike me today as usual. I have been thinking of putting together several items that just do not see much use for sale or trade and I'm not sure if this one will stay with me or not.

This after shave is just awesome! Best 5 bucks or so that I've spent in a while. It's a sweet type Bay Rum that I'm really in to right now.

Killed my phone camera yesterday so grabbed my little Canon PowerShot and playing around with Picasa. Anyways, the shave was pretty darned good.
    Prep: Shower and face wash
    Lather: Tiki Set Sail
Brush: Vie-Long Lord Randal mixed hair brush
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: 7 a.m. Plus (2)
Post: Cold water rinse and Captain's Choice Lime

3 passes were made and the resulting shave was close and comfortable. I trimmed my mustache this morning, so had some areas on the edge of my mouth that were newly exposed and ended up with a weeper on the left side. Think there might be in ingrown hiding there on the edge of the mustache.

    sorry guys no pic tonight
GET to go to church, not got to.
tonight's shave I was pretty stoked about. still looks like I was in a prize fight. but I haven't been able to follow my preferred schedule. I have been following you guys, with a touch of envy. the thread on arco reminded me that I have a stick of it WOW it was like making lather with a urinal puck. y'all are right it did make lather, but that smell. I'm gonna have to put it away for another try. the whipped dog made plenty of lather, no mug.
I used the sledgehammer to shave around the sun spots. used the second run persona lab, it was still sharp, like new.
finished with clubman, hard on the cold sores, but may make them dry up quicker.
    y'all have a great night

    Hot shower
    Prep: Homemade Lime PSO
    Brush: WD Silvertip, 24/47
    Soap: Stirling Grapefruit
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Gillette Black (1)
    Post: Thayer's Cucumber WH
Aftershave: Lime Sec w/ TSD M-Bomb

Quite a bit of irritation today and even a couple of weepers. Not sure if it was thin lather, new blade, or poor technique. However, it was a close shave regardless. I discovered that adding a couple of drops M-Bomb to a palm full of Lime Sec is a real treat. It's like Osage without the medicinal scent. I'll be using this combo frequently throughout the summer.

Thanks and I agree that's why I just had to have it when Mühle released it last year.

Thank you, I love it. Although I haven't used it much in the last few months, it's made it back to the bathroom.

Made Rite w/ TGN Synthetic knot
    Gillette Fatboy F2
    Shark Super Chrome (4)

    FD Old Spice AS

So far, I am not wild about this synthetic brush. It was my second shave with it. Maybe next time I will try to bowl lather with it. The TOBS provided plenty of cushion and slickness for an excellent shave. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fatboy with Shark SC blade left me with a close comfortable shave. After my cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
