  6. Do you use the Noxzema as a pre-shave cream or just as a cleaner? I was wondering if it set up the beard like the Proraso PSC? :signs002:

Rod from Stirling Soaps described the Glacial Obsidian soap as being like the related Black Ice soap on crack and that's a good way of putting it because although the Black Ice is cold, it feels warm compared to this stuff. By the time I was halfway through my first pass my face felt like it was on fire. I love this soap so much - the lather is a pleasure to work with, the black licorice scent is nice, and it has perfect skincare. The 444 balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo contributed plenty of extra menthol freezing. What a super-duper shave! ;) :D
  13. Hey Friends,

  15. today's shave
hot water wash with nivea men's
    semouge 620
    Coates lime
    gem micromatic bullet tip
    cvs persona(1)
    crusellas &co agua de ruda
today I tried a few new things. most notable, I used a se for the first time. I have a few of these razors, reading others post about them made me curious. I got the blades at cvs, buy one get one half off. eight bucks for twenty blades. not the value of de, but I wanted to try them.
I palm stropped a blade, thanks Steve.and loaded my micromatic. three pass shave same touch up on my jaw line was required. the shape of the head seemed different, but ok. I feel very shaved.
I finished up with agua de ruda. a crusellas & co as/cologne. sorta flowery, mixed writhe the lime well.
I removed the blade washed and dried it, left it out of the razor. good shave, sorta took the technique issue out of the equation.
    Y'all have a great day 20140619_073302.jpg 20140619_073412.jpg

Yes—obviously I still haven't gotten the hang of this whole 'planned shave' concept …;)
(but I am enjoying a short coffee break at the office as I type this @ 5:10 am….)
  17. SOTD June 19

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: Gillette slim twist
    Blade: Merkur (day 3)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Cream: Proraso Blue
    Passes: 3(WTGx2, XTG)
    Post: Proraso Blue

Second day with the Proraso Blue yielded a much better lather, with a very nice yet subtle scent that I missed yesterday.

I seemed to have more stubble to deal with for today's shave, so I doubled up on my WTG pass. Even so I'm reluctant to call this a DFS...

  18. I use it as a face wash and rinse it off before lathering.

  19. They are thicker blades and last longer than de blades. You get more shaves.
