So last night, my friend with the crazy landlord took me aside after church and asked me if I would "have a talk" with her 17 year old son. Apparently, he's been watching some "interesting" videos on his phone.

Wasn't part of the reason I chose not to have children so I wouldn't have to have these awkward discussions? Oh well, the kid does look up to me, and he's never really had a good male role model in his life. I guess I'm going to have to step up.

I'm reading this thinking you'd be an excellent candidate for this discussion, given some of our more recent conversations...the ones that don't have to deal with crypto-crap anyways, ha

Yeah, oddly enough, I'm fairly well loaded for bear, but it still feels a bit odd. I mean, it's all "fatherly" and stuff. I feel a little out of my depth. It doesn't help that the kid in question has a very low (tested) IQ, but he's still very high functioning-- makes for a weird dynamic.

My wife works Elementary School.:shocked029::shocked003: She's with Kindergarten, she gets them before they are ruined by the worthless people that they call teachers:angry032: in the upper elementary system.
Her School year ended on the 6th. (Year Round School) That's why she waited until this week to have her Knee Replacement Surgery. They are saying they want her to go to Rehab. :angry019: Boy is she upset.:angry017: :( The doctor said that the surgery was good. I will take her what I got for her . I got her a new set of Ear Rings.

Rehab is standard procedure after knee replacement, as far as I know. If she commits to it, she will heal much faster and have much better mobility once she's healed. She will also learn several new curse words. The PT folks are not there to be your friend and make you feel good. They are there to make you better.

:signs011: An absolute necessity in the majority of replacement surgeries.

My boss gave me the rest of the week off. I'm kind of bummed, because I like money. But my dad always said that I have the rest of my life to work and life was too short to be working it away.

Plus, Uncle Sam gave me a big check from past military service today. That made me real happy.

Rehab for knee replacement is a must do, and the sooner the better. Knees need much more rehab work than hip replacement, and sorry it will hurt like heck. She will need a lot of encouragement. I had both hips replaced 5 years ago and I ride jet skies at 60mph on the inter coastal (Gulf). A year from now she will be happy she stuck to it.

Sitting here watching my son at British Soccer Camp, when the coach hollers out "parents, join in".
    Oh, crap.
I'm pushing 40, over weight and out of shape...

Oh good.... since you have nothing to do, you can come help me pack for my promotion move in a week.

Huh... most coaches are all about the "parents sit down and shut the heck up. let the kiddies have fun." :D Well, you made it through. And just remember, sharks out of water tend to weigh more. Get back in the ocean and you'll be perfectly svelte.

That it is. And I'm moving to the country part.

BTW, Ryan, an tips on field dressing a deer? I almost creamed two of them the other day up near my new home. It seems as if they appeared out of nowhere in front of me. Clearly, they have no regard for the rules of the road!

Deer are insane in Illinois too. Not so much Texas though. I'll tell you how, but hope you don't hit one. Those things are dangerous.

As long as you aren't squeamish, it's pretty easy. Just don't pierce the stomach and you should be good to go after you disconnect the muscle and tissue holding the guts in. And if the meat isn't too bruised, you should get some good cuts of meat out of it.

Yeah, but these guys doing this camp try to make it fun for the kids, and involving the parents is fun for them.

And, yes, I need some water - apparently a couple of very large great whites are heading the Texas way from New England area where they were recently tagged...you aren't sending me anything via SeaMail are you?

Depends on what part of Texas. Here in NE corner, pineywoods area, they're rather crazy

Well I ant over to she my wife, got home a couple of hours ago. 2115hrs. to be exact. She seemed to be in good spirits, its really a joke for no children allowed in the hospital especially being this close to the border. The parking at the hospital is also a joke. They do not enforce the "Handicapped Park Rules" They now have ballet parking. $5.00 bucks. That's an even bigger joke. But "She Who Must be Obeyed" seemed happy to see me. I got over there a little after 1845hrs. stayed until 2045hrs. The nurses are really nice. my wife and I were sitting talking her nurse came in the room and I told her well I guess I will go at just before 1955hrs. She said I could stay as long as I wanted. They only wanted to run the family's that bring their "Rug Rat's and Curtain Climbers out of the hospital.

Yeah, about the SeaMail... I checked with the boys, and nothing's headed your way at the moment. Looks like your in-laws are paying a surprise visit. :scared011:

I realize they are only parking attendants, but $5 for Swan Lake is a darn good deal! :D :happy097:

Glad the Mrs. is on the road to recovery.
