Used my Gem jr again yesterday. It's the first time in a while that I've used the same razor for back to back shaves. This thing just works for me! Amazing shave!! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1403094525.649172.jpg

Planned shave for tomorrow. I got my Canadian schick E3 cleaned up and found some blades and tomorrow will be my first shave. Still deciding on what lather to use. I'm thinking something vintage, either the Yardley or the Williams Barber's Bar.

Shaved with my J1 and a Schick blade today. A very solid DFS with no irritation at all. I'm planning to shave with this one as long as the blade lasts. After that, I've got a Schick adjustable that I've had for months and not used yet. So that one might be next.

I know somewhere in the depths of this thread someone may have brought this up but there are way too many posts to scan so...

Has anyone ever seen, made, thought of a replacement handle for the E or G Injector? I have a G head that will polish up nicely but the plastic handle is FUBAR.

Today's shave. E3, vintage Yardley, Sabre boar, Vintage English Leather. Used a vintage blade for the first pass and it was horrible. Put in a new Schick blade and the shave was BBS & AGAIG.

Someone gave me an old injector full of Schick carbon blades and rough doesn't even begin to describe them. The new Schicks are something though.

I'm joining the party! Ordered a Gem 1912 and a selection of 10 carbon blades and 10 GEM Stainless blades to try out. Looking forward to this ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS DESIGN!

Thanx. I was thinking about pen blanks at Woodcraft. I suppose I'm not the renaissance man I thought I was.

Oh and I've been told before that my search-fu is weak.

Some people have used various customized handles on these razors but customizing requires much more cost than people think. In reality though the cost outweighs the benefit since it is easy to get a good to great condition E or G injector still on e-Bay and flea markets, antique shops, etc. If you had to have one customized with a resin style handle, you could look to individuals like Bob Quinn or Rod Neep to fashion and integrate the head to the new handle. Again not cheap!

I took my 1914 Ever Ready for a spin this morning and I'm quite pleased with it. I picked it up a while back but only recently got some blades for it at the local CVS - stainless GEM I think. The shallow angle felt quite natural and I was somewhat surprised by the relative dexterity of what seemed to me initially to be a potentially awkward head. Got a very comfortable and suitably close shave, so altogether no complaints from the virgin run. :happy088:

After going down the Interwebs rabbit hole, I am of this opinion as well. I'm a little too lazy.
