Thank you! I am glad you like my Mastro Livi razor. I particularly like scales: they are made of olive wood.

Another superb Tabac shave. It would be boring if my face didn't feel so good. Starting with a damp brush and adding a little water as needed is just the ticket to thick lather. Tabac likes cold water, too. I used Gondolier lotion to finish and it pairs well with Tabac.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: Tabac!
    Brush: HIS Lather Monster
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna lab blue (2)
AS: Kiehl's Facial Fuel, HTGAM Gondolier lotion

    Here is today's shave ...

I went rather "old school" today on the blade and tried a Personna Precision from the 1950s. It is a carbon blade and was in great shape visually with no rust. After a spray and 30 seconds with Scrubbing Bubbles I decided to use the blade without stropping. It was a close shave but not the smoothest. 2 pass face BBS and 1 pass DFS on the head. Not the best shave but not the worst either. I definitely needed Witch Hazel and Balm afterward to soothe the skin. Since I will be moving on to another razor combination tomorrow and this is a carbon blade I decided to get rid of this blade since it will quickly rust. I may try this combination (with a blade from the same pack) with a pre-shave stropping to see if it becomes smoother. Here is an ad from the early 1950s for this blade.

P.S. No I am not asking for a refund since I only got one shave out of it... ;)

Pre: Headblade HeadShead Exfoliating Scrub & Maggard Razors PSO – Sweet Orange
    Brush: Omega 48 Pro Boar
    Soap: TOBS Avacado
    Razor: Maggard razors M3
    Blade: Voskhod (3)
Splash: Shea Moisture Shave Tea Tree Herbal AS Elixer
    Post: Nivea Sensitive ASB
After: Aqua Velva Ice Blue Classic AS

Last shave on the Voskhod. Felt a little rough on the top but still very sharp. Definitely a nice close shave. Getting more confident with the M3. No weepers this time! The big Omega is coming into its own. Wings are starting to spread. Had a couple of sheds today but nothing unexpected. Kicked off the shave with HeadShed. I really like this stuff. It does an excellent job of removing dead skin and its pretty invigorating. A little too granular for everyday use for me, but once or twice a week is great! Capped a great shave with the Ice Blue. Have a great Sunday! Happy belated bday Dale!

today's shave was a calamity of errors
hot shower prep with whatever soap was in the shower
    Parker pure badger
New cheapo bowl, nice texture inside for lather
    gem g bar
    ever ready shovelhead
    sledgehammer
    cvs persona(3)
    durex(2)
    persona lab(4)
    halston z14 a/s balm& cologne
today was fought with errors from the start. I thought that bowl would make lather good, it did until I had it full of lather, put the brush down, the weight of the brush made the bowl topple, right off the counter.
then the razor I picked,a gem g bar. loaded a cvs persona, used twice, refused to cut the hair off my chin. I thought maybe razor issue so I loaded that blade into the 1924 that did so well, two days ago. no such luck. I grabbed the de, I used yesterday, that blade was dull also. I ended up reloading a used persona. it did the job, nicely in fact.
I finished with halston z14 balm, then cologne
church today, y'all come go with me. 20140622_090145.jpg
even my pics were messed up

Brush: Oscar11 custom with HIS knot
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft

    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe

Great shave taking off two days stubble. The little sun flower companion reminds me of the beginning days of summer. It is perfect weather to be outdoors.

Razor: Loeffler Our Drummer 5/8 Full Hollow
    Brush: Vie-Long Pro Horsehair
Bowl: Buffalo Horn 5” Lather Bowl
Pre Shave Soap: MRGLO Lime Basil
Pre Shave Oil: Eucalyptus Peppermint Vanilla
    Shave Soap: Tiki Soap Fougère
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Tiki AS Lotion

This Tiki Fougere is fantastic. Last week when I used it remined me of the Coastal Redwood Forrest of No. California with touch of floral, today my sinuses are better and picked up a lot more floral fragrance today but the woody/oakmass aroma is still present. Unlike the Valobra Fougere which was too floral, almost had a sweet aroma to it, Amanda's Fougere is more of a manly aroma, right up my alley.

    SUNDAY
This was actually last night's late-night shave as I had a bunch of newly-honed razors (*Click*) that made it impossible for me to wait until morning! A great shave, by the way—one of the more memorably close and comfortable shaves I've had in quite some time! I was almost tempted to shave again this morning but alas, I was running late for work and so skipped it. Still über-smooth this morning, however! :)

Have a blessed Sunday—and a blessed birthday to you today, Patrick! :happy036:
