I've mis-spoken; You are correct. It seems I've heard that either initially or towards the end, it was Tanifuji taking the finished Iwasaki blades and actually scaling them. I'll poke into this and find out for sure and report back.
Torrey, Worcester, Mass. toe broken midway extending almost an inch. The pieces move. One of the first razors I picked up when I'd buy anything. Covered in rust. I think the rust held the crack together. I honed it on a Rolls Razor hone. It shaves well.
First ever shave with the newly-honed Henckel 'Blue Steel'….not crazy about the cheezy thin & flat scales, but the blade took nice edge.
UGLY RAZOR/GREAT SHAVE DAY 2: Picked this little Ran Tan Ka Rus Red Devil at a swap meet. $5.00 later and a wee bit of honing later, it's providing a great shave.
4/8 Alfred J. Krank "Habby" Stirling Frozen Tundra homemade boar A day late and a dollar short but I'm in. I'm not going to stay up late sharpening again tonight. Despite it's flaws, it's a decent shaving razor. No tape was used to hone, lol.
UGLY RAZOR/GREAT SHAVE DAY 3: A.W. Wadsworth & Son XLNT 5/8s Can't even remember where I picked it up, probably in a batch. A superb shaver! MdC Kent BLK8 Floid
My 'first' razor fix-up...Another Wadsworth XLNT...a $7 ebay "gross shaving thing" as my wife called it when I removed it from the box.... But it polished up real nice (after many hours of sanding); turned into a real nice shaver...
Nice job on the old girl! I was surprised at what a fine shave the Wadsworth gave. Another intended for the PIF bin that nudged it's way into my rotation!
