The MWF face lathered easily with my Semogue 1305 boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with my Gillette Fatboy and Derby Extra blade left me with a close, comfortable shave. After my cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Mennen Skin Bracer after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

No aftershave today. Just a one pass DFS with my new Proraso Blue. To me, the scent seems like a subtle aquatic scent. I like how unobtrusive it is. I think I'll go without aftershave for my next few shaves and see if there is any difference whether I use one or not.

Corinne actually loves the scent of the Proraso Blue cream. I like it too. It's very nice and it even has a very slight menthol effect.

No complaints about today's shave at all - it turned out to be absolutely BBS. It took a lot of deciding on what to use soap or cream-wise, but I finally selected the Williams Menthol cream and I'm happy I did because it has such a lovely scent and lathers like a maniac with plenty of cooling and great skincare. I bought this Avalon Organics moisturizer yesterday, and you know what - it's pretty good stuff. Very moisturizing with a nice peppermint scent and a mild cooling sensation which the Floid Classic aftershave really intensified. ;) :D

    Gillette FatBoy (9) 2 passes
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum Blue (2)
    EverReady 150 boar
SallyeAnder Patchouli & Frankincense Premium Shave soap in a warm bowl
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Brut Dominant AS lotion

I just shaved yesterday so I didn't have much stubble but I was anxious to give the SP Blue another run.

SallyeAnder Soaps "The Best Soap in America". Quite a boast and this nicely packaged block of soap has a terrific scent. The instructions say to run the soap under hot water and then rub it on your face. I chose to whittle some off, warm it a bit, and then mash it in the bottom of the bowl so I could whip up a bounty of "premium shave soap" lather. Since the instructions say to run it under hot water I added some water to the top while I showered. After the first pass I added a squirt of Cremo to try to bolster this thin watery lame excuse of a shave soap but wasn't successful. My plan is to try it for general bathing since it smells nice and if that doesn't work it should make my sock drawer smell very nice.

    Gillette slim(7)

    virgin island bay rum
    generic witch hazel
today's shave was inspired by the posts praising the slim. so I used my granddad's, it's an I1. I like it on seven. I used one of those durex blades. last time they were one an done. so today I did a four pass. ns, shoulder to nose, ear to chin, then sn. no touch up, none needed. very close bbs+.
finish with liquidnapalm, I mean virgin island bay rum. pretty warm, so I cooled it with the witch hazel. I'll try that blade tomorrow, to see if they are a one an done brand, or that was a dud blade.
    y'all have a good one

    TUESDAY
Back to work & back to a vintage DE razor today. I haven't used my gold fat-handled Tech in some time. Mild, yet efficient—a timeless razor that simply provides a great 3-pass shave.
I may have to give this little guy some more attention in the future.

    Have a blessed Tuesday, all!

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: Aristocrat
Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (day 1)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Cream: Arko Extra Sensitive
Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG, (ATG Face only))
Post: Witch Hazel, Arko Extra Sensitive

Today's shave was partially sponsored by the letter "A"

Tired out the Arko Extra Sensitive shave cream and after shave today. I am very pleased with both products. The shave cream got me a quick, easy and thick lather good for another two or three passes. As expected form an "Extra Sensitive" neither the shave cream or after shave and any noticeable scent, which is almost a requirement on days I don't work. Bottom line, this might be my new goto weekend shave cream and aftershave!
I also tried out the BIC Chrome Platinum today. I paired it with my Aristocrat, which is not one of my "smoothest" of razors. This was the BEST shave I've gotten from the Aristocrat in terms of closeness and tugging/pulling. I did manage to nick myself on my neck, and there was some tugging but not as much as I've come to expect from the Aristocrat. Other then one patch on my jawline, this was a BBS shave.
Third day with the Petal Pusher's wax, perhaps the best application so far. I'm hoping I get a better hold today, but have a feeling I will need to reapply this afternoon... I think I'm OK with that.

    Prep: Gaia face scrub
    Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
Razor: slim adjustable set to 4
    Blade: Feather
    soap:

    Provence Sante
    with a touch of
    AOS sandalwood
    and
8 drops of TSD Sandalwood cologne

    Post: Alum sprayed on
    Witch Hazel: Generic rose scented
    AS: Sampsons all natural

Opening up my slim from 3 to 4 has been allowing me to do some DFSs with three passes instead of my usual four passes. I think I wasn't able to go to the 4 setting with a feather before this because I didn't have enough cushion in the soap. The Sante Provence has been supplying me with all the cushion I need. I was also able to use my feather for 4 shaves last time. Hopefully, this will remain the same & I will only buy 1/2 as many blades.

I have to come to grips with something, and I don't like it, but it is true. I am not a menthol fan. Sure, I like the coolness, but something in the scent of menthol just smells like cat urine to me. Definitely not how I want to start the day. All of the Stirling Glacial soaps have the scent, the Omega Crema has the scent and now the MBomb has the scent. C.E. Bigelow does not, so that may be how I get my occasional menthol fix. I know if I use any menthol for more than 2 days in a row, I get bumps. Dangit.

Anyways...this was a good shave. 3 passes but could have gotten by with only 2. I had to try the excellent quality (minus the stench) lather again and gave it a third pass.
