Everything needs to be ordered, and is overpriced and shipping cost makes it not really worth it.

    20140627_063556.jpg today's shave
in honor of independence day I'm trying to use American products for the next week, only exception today was wash.
hot water wash with nivea( France)
    whipped dog(US)
    vdh deluxe(US)
    Gillette long comb ball end(US)
    persona lab(US)(2)
aqua velva(US) according to the bottle
today's shave went very well. smooth is the word. the whipped dog smoothly whipped up the vdh deluxe. the long comb smoothly ran across my face. the persona smoothly cut the stubble. leaving my face smooth as silk. dfs today.
finish with aqua velva, I'm loving the ice blue in the Florida Sun
    y'all have a smooth day

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: Aristocrat
Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (day 4)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: ProrasoGreen
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
Post: Witch Hazel, Dove Men hydrate+

Final shave with this BIC blade. There does seem to be more shaves left in the blade, but the Aristocrat is not the razor to push the limits of a blade. I've gotten four very close shave out of the BIC, and am looking forward to loading up a fresh one in a different razor.

Proraso Green provided a great lather with little effort, but still nothing on the cooling side for me. This is a very good soap, but with its "signature" menthol cooling effect missing, it doesn't see much usage. Thinking about changing that in the near future.

Nice shave again this morning. I should use this knot more, a TGN Super Finest 26mm , it made a nice brush. The tips are hooking and it's soft with good backbone, nice density too. Have a good one.

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Scots Pine Bath Soap
    Soap: Maggard Limes & Bergamot
Razor: Gillette SS Red Tip Flare
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (4)
    Brush: oscar11 TGN 2-Band Finest 24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Fine Platinum

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

I just had to go back to the Maggard Limes & Bergamot today. Awesome soap, both performance and scent! The Red Tip and Gillette Platinum are still friends. Excellent shave: smooth, close, and nick free.
    I finished with Fine Platinum.

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Jasmine Tobacco
    Razor: Merkur 41c OC
Blade: Big Ben Super Stainless (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (3, 4)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB

The second shave with the Big Ben was a definite improvement over the first. I had a better lather to start with, which no doubt contributed, but the blade didn't feel nearly as 'prickly' as it did the first day of use. Two passes plus a touch-up on a spot along my throat where the hair grows contrary-wise to the rest of my beard, and I've got DFS results without much irritation. I avoided the 3rd pass merely because I want to use my Speick tomorrow.

    Synergy Appreciation Day
Here's to Douglas Smythe, who creates compelling products featuring natural ingredients and almost unnaturally great performance. I went with Classic Bay Rum today because I just placed an order for the matching aftershave with menthol and alum. I'm really looking forward to this combination of two personal favorites - menthol and bay rum.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: Synergy Classic Bay Rum
    Brush: HIS XL Lather Monster
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue (1)
AS: Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum

Pre: Maggard Razors PSO – Eucalyptus
    Brush: Shea Moisture Shave Synthetic
    Soap: TOBS St. James
    Razor: Gillette TTO Black Handle
    Blade: Topaz (3)
    Splash: Wal-Mart Witch Hazel 86%
    Post: Pacific Shaving Moisturizer
    After: Pinaud Clubman Classic AS

Nice close shave today. Not quite BBS but definitely a darn fine shave! Last shave on the Topaz. Still felt plenty sharp but dragged a bit in spots. No weepers or irritation. That was the last of my Maggard Razors PSO samples so I need to order some. Most likely next week tues or wed. If I dont just drive there this weekend. Finally used the St. James. I do like the scent. I don’t know if it’s as good as all the hype but so far i do like it. Reminds me of something I can’t put my finger on. I guess the Topaz wasn’t as smooth as it felt as the Pinaud stung like crazy when I applied it. SO I am totally awake now ;)
