    Prep: Gaia face scrub
    Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
Razor: slim adjustable set to 5
    Blade: Feather
    soap:

    L'Occatane Cade

    Post: Alum sprayed on
    Witch Hazel: Generic unscented
    AS: Sampsons all natural

I was a bit disappointed in this mornings shave. I have been "pushing" my feathers to 4 shaves, and this one should have been retired at 3 shaves. Still, I got a DFS out of it.

Am I the only one that waters his soaps once a week? I do it when I do the plants.

I like that Mark! I thought the soap would be a little dry and it is up next after I finish the Tiki Set Sail I have been working on since May 22.

    Prep: CeraVe cleanser
    Soap: Dapper Dragon unscented
    Brush: Plisson synthetic
    Razor: Schick injector, type I
    Blade: Schick
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe

I haven't used one of my Schick injector razors in ages. This "I1" model was made from 1955-1958, so it's as old as I am! I find an
injector shave to be easy, but the Schick blades just are not as smooth as the best DE blades. Three passes, close, comfortable results.

    A shave-free day…so far

Today is a 'Shave-cation' for me, my day off from work AND from shaving… and I've a ton of things to do today.
I may revisit this later this evening….:D:D

I've had this brush for over a year now. The logo was slowly disappearing, and you inspired me to go ahead and scratch it off. It easily came off with my thumbnail. It was serving no useful purpose.
    Last year about this time.

Today's shave was my second with the unknown BEAST, a slant razor with no manufacturers marks. It has a flat tip plate and there is no blade curvature. No blood but a little irritation.

    Prep - CeraVe
    Lather - Nivea Sensitive
    Razor - Slim @ 4
    Blade - "Lab"
    Post - Speick Balm

Methinks that Nivea makes a better lather when used without a brush. That is not so bad as it gives my brushes time to properly dry.

It was a great shave. I started off with a vintage Gillette Blue. That was a mistake. I didn't make it past the first stroke before saying nope. After I popped the Astra in it was smooth sailing. It was a bit more aggressive than I anticipated, but that was an exciting surprise. It took a few bumps off my face and a little blood let. I just took out a leech and solved the problem. Happy Monday folks.

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: RazoRock One-X Tallow Croap :love055:
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo
Blade: Big Ben Super Stainless (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (3, 4, 5)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS Splash

The One-X arrived this AM, obviously, and I was glad I waited for it. My other RazoRock soap (Cumba Cheech) doesn't list tallow oil in the ingredients, so I had to fiddle with the water ratio a bit to get it right; once I did, the lather was thick and slick and felt 'nourishing' to my skin, with a subtle but very nice AdP-inspired scent. One-X lists menthol, but I suspect true menth-heads would want to add more, as the cooling sensation is mild. I enjoyed it so much I went for the ATG pass, and, naturally, had some irritation and a weeper for pressing my luck. Otherwise, BBS results with my skin feeling remarkably well-hydrated without feeling oily.

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD these Gem blades are awesome. The ASR bulk ones I got don't hold a candle to them, and I can easily see why the 1912 model is the favourite of so many SE shavers, my face is so smooth my skin is shiny. It's tough to see a winner between this and the OCCM so far.

On another note, my DE razors are crying because they know they're about to be evicted.
