If you start getting the DT's, I'd suggest maybe giving back to the community by writing a review on Amazon, or here, or wherever of a favorite product. Unless that would prove too tempting..... I've got everything I need. I think I'll survive this month!
Neutrogena Skin Clearing Shave Cream so I can participate in the July 4th shave as well as a bottle of the Nivea Replenishing Aftershave Balm.
So far, so good. Staying away from eBay isn't the easiest thing to do. I spent an hour or two last night cleaning up and polishing a fat handle tech. It's down to its copper and brass glory and I'm torn...plate it or lacquer it.
The less time I occupy myself with buying additional stuff, the more free time I now have to spend working on the 30+ razors currently in need of 'fixing'… *Click*
Oh once you give it a go can you share how the menthol content is on it with a small review? I'm hoping he put more in than the other RR offerings, as there's nothing for those that like things which have a cool sensation like you find in Palmolive Menthol.
Okay, um, I want to start over, as I made a tiny, ever so small, little mistake. So had some blood taken and I wasn't feeling too great, but I remembered I promised to get something for the wife. So I went to the shop looked for her stuff, bought some chocolate to get the blood sugar up, got something for one of my daughters, then realised i would have to hustle across town to get the bus home, to begin the arduous journey back to my house. Threw a few last thing into the basket. Paid and left. On the bus I looked at my purchases and noticed that a Williams Ice Blue Aftershave had somehow snuck itself in the rest of the shopping So it wasn't that I caved in I just kind of bought it without thinking, totally forgetting no buy July. It as more stupidity than weakness.
I actually do see Joe's point about it being more 'being dumb' than falling to temptation....so this is a tough one....but.....rules are rules...so as much as it hurt me Joe... I'm going to have to scratch your name off the list in the first post There's always July next month AND might I add I loved that you told us about it. Love that the honor system works Having said that - I do hope you still take the opportunity to relax in July and stay away from purchases. The list on the first page is more of a way to keep track of who "made it through completely" - the spirit of No Buy July can still very much apply to you!
I think you should stay on in spirit, Joe. If you're buying aftershave and don't even realize it, you need an intervention this month!
My other RazoRock soap (Cumba Cheech) doesn't list tallow oil in the ingredients, so I had to fiddle with the water ratio a bit to get it right; once I did, the lather was thick and slick and felt 'nourishing' to my skin, with a subtle but very nice AdP-inspired scent. One-X lists menthol, but I suspect true menth-heads would want to add more, as the cooling sensation is mild.
Just because we aren't buying stuff does not mean we are unable to add something new to our shaves. Why no play some classical music or soothing jazz while shaving? Or if you go on a mini-vacation over the long weekend, that will also add a new dimension to the morning routine. Often the non-material aspect of a shave is among the most important.
