Went skeet shooting today. Rather than shoot my target rig, I took my dove gun, a 28ga wingmaster. 25 mph sustained winds with 40 mph gusts. I ran the first round. Got midway through the second round and dropped one. Ended up with 37 in a row and finished 48/50. It was a fantastic day for the conditions and better than I normally shoot. I hope I do this well when I get to go for dove in the fall.
HAPPY CANADA DAY To those of you who are ill I wish a quick and complete recovery. (To me too) Mickey
I started in on my new PPF Black Tea SS today. As I suspected, it's a bit perfume-y for my tastes, but it's not that bad. An interesting scent tho, and an awesome performer.
Went for a run today, which was a dubious decision after my bike ride yesterday. I think tomorrow I'll lay in bed all day with Icy/Hot. Should be meeting up with a new lady friend later tonight for a drink or something.
Off to have my first cigar at my new residence. A Don-something-or-other made on the French side of St. Martin.
Sitting out back enjoying a cigar after mowing the grass. Watching a catbird hunt. Amazing how close he's been getting just for a few choice bugs!
Yesterday, my wife and I spent the day at the Alameda County Fair. Tons of people there on a toasty warm summer Saturday. I wound up buying her several handmade skirts there, plus a few other odds & ends. Today is her actual birthday—jeez, I remember celebrating her 21st with her back in college (me, a punky 19-yr old freshman!) some 35 years ago! I've been blessed to have her as my best friend, wife and love of my life for all these years. Tonight, I'll be making the celebratory dinner— grilled salmon with Cilantro-Walnut salsa, served with a chilled bottle of Calif. chardonnay—her favorite!
