Every once in a while everything just comes together and works perfectly. That's the way it was for me today. I don't know that it's possible to get a better shave than what I had today. I hope the rest of my day goes this well!

    Have a great day!

Nice shave. No "tangle hole" developed in the knot this time. I did adjust my technique with the brush for this shave, however. Have a good one.

    Razor: WW2 Gillette Tech
    Blade: Treet Black (day 1)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Stirling One
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)

Back to work and back to the DE. I decided to tryout the Treet Black this week. So far I think I've made a good choice. Paired with my Grandfather's WW2 tech and Stirling One, I was able to get a very enjoyable shave. The shave was so smooth ithe audible feedback was the only reassurance that I actually had a bladed loaded. I was left with a DFS after two quick passes.
  7. 7/7/2014 Let's try "Non Dominant Hand Shaving Week"

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Senator, Imperial Razor Waranteed Barbers Favorite straight razor
Blade: Pol Silver Super Iridium (3)
Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair 23mm knot
    Soap: Cella
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva classic Ice Blue after shave
    Cologne: Aqua H2O

It was a nice 1 pass Darn Fine Shave this morning. I am trying out only shaving with my non dominant hand this week. Today I had much less apprehension when I crossed over with the straight. I may have to continue this Non Dominant Hand Shaving technique. I ended up with equal, if not better results than I usually do while using both hands.

    Have a blessed day!

    Blade: 7am Platinum

    Post: Pacific Shaving Moisturizer

A very light and citrus-y shave this morning! Tossed a 7am Platinum blade in the Super Speed. A surprisingly sharp blade! I don’t know why it surprised me, but for some reason I didn’t have high expectations for it...

Proraso Green in a warm mug

Classic SuperSpeed mistake this morning. Extra smooth razor, extra smooth teflon coated blade (only on it's second shave), one eye on the clock, 100 miles an hour through the corner..... and out comes the blood. Otherwise, a great shave.

Prep: warm wash with Stirling Barbershop
    Lather: Stirling Spice
    Brush: Vie-Long Lord Randal mixed
    Razor: Gillette New
    Blade: Dorco 301
Post: cold rinse and Captain's Choice Lime

3 easy passes. Gillette New continues to be my favorite razor, hands down. Stirling Spice continues to wake up a little and get easier to make lather with every time I use it.
  14. Tuesday, July 8 - Cold water shave
Warm shower, Gatsby Icy Gel Facewash
    Proraso Preshave Balm - Sensitive
Kiss My Face Key Lime + 4 drops M-Bomb
Gillette Pre-war Fat Handle Tech w/Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Cold water, witch hazel, TSD ISZ AS Milk

First time with the Fat Handle Tech. As with 98% of my shaves with vintage razors, this one was disappointing. Not nearly close enough, and way too much irritation.

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (6)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (11, 12, 13)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash

Holy lather monster, Batman! More or less on a whim, I decided to bowl-lather the One-X with the Simpson brush; 30 seconds later, I had enough lather to consider using some in a PIF. I had so much lather, in fact, that I felt like it would have been a waste to only do two passes, so I went ahead with the Fool's Pass. An older blade combined with the ATG pass did produce a couple of minor weepers around some of the scar tissue on my face, but I caught the baby, and my post-shave routine - particularly the One-X splash - has my face feeling fantastic.
  17. I can answer that question Jeff. Not really cooling at all,it has some menthol but not enough to be called Brain Freeze, nowhere near the chill of Proraso. However like most RR soaps,it lathers great and has good skincare.

Had a head weeper in a bad spot so today's shave was just my mug.As always the R41 gave me a nice close BBS shave, heck I may not need to shave tomorrow,it was that close!!!

    Soap: The Shave Den unscented
    Brush: Oscar11 boar
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft
    Blade: Super Iridium
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

After my bowl lathering problems yesterday, I wanted to repeat the same setup, but face lather as I normally do. Much better lather today -- face lathering is what I know how to do! Three passes, very smooth and comfortable result.
