Prep Preshave Gem 1912 Treet Blade Proraso Boar RazoRock ABCBA WitchHazel RazoRock Alum Floid Blue Treet blade wasn't bad, smooth but didn't do a great deal of cutting needed a few touch ups. First time ABCBA gave me zero redness on my face - WOO!
Semogue 1800 Solo shaving cream Shavette loaded with a Feather blade (1) Alum Ralon original I found one last Feather half so i thought "let's give it one more go"...aaaaaand I was wrong. Worse shavette shave I had in some time...only bad shave I had with a shavette in some time. The lather was great, nice and cushiony just the way I love it, but the blade was just as bad as I remember. No cuts, nicks or weepers just an irritated burning face. I don't know what made me try it again, probably the same mysterious force that makes me give Wilkinson soap (blue bowl) another try every now and again. And th same force that makes me run my finger on the smooth, shiny piece of metal i just polished just to burn my fingers off once again. But never again said the raven, and never again says the monkey (just because i don't have any more feather blades ;D )
Do you get better results with ARKO shave stick? ARKO is the only shave stick I have used and was thinking of trying some others. Dave

Here's my set-up for tomorrow because I have an early morning golf game. Saturday's action: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Rapira day 6 Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS 444 AS Balm Osage Rub AS Chabrawichi 555 Cologne If this stuff doesn't freeze a man's face off then nothing will. The Neutrogena face wash has plenty of menthol in it with a nice scent and plenty of skincare. Guys, very seriously - unless you can tolerate a hyper-mentholated soap like the Glacial Obsidian you should stay away from it because it's so powerful that it'll make your face feel like it's on fire and the fumes will make your eyes tear. The 444 balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo are guaranteed to satisfy any menthol junkie completely!
SOTD - 7/11/14 Soap - HTGAM Chocolate Bourbon Razors - R89 Bulldog w/ Med Prep (3) for first pass RRSS w/ Med Prep (3) for 2nd & 3rd pass Brush - WD 24/55 Silvertip Post - Cold water then Shea Moisture AS First time with a HTGAM synergy soap and if did not fail. After 3 days growth, the R89 cut through like butter and the RRSS left BBS. No problem with lathering other than needing to use a bit more water than I thought I would but it was the first time with the soap. Still getting whifs of it every now and then and it's been a couple hours. SWMBO approved.

Coniferous I am going to use the WTG-XTG-ATG method. I have used it everyday this past week and it seems to be working well for me. Yesterday Friday I got a DFS had no "Nick's and Weeper's" so the use of the Alum Block was not needed or warranted. Other wise I got a DFS Shave everyday this week. I do like the cooling effect of the Alum, or Witch Hazel. I did put some on, Friday Morning. Saturday Noon Shave Razor: Frank Shaving DE Razor Blade: Super-Max Blue Diamond (4) Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger Soap: Proraso Green EDT: Brut Alaska It has been for a while since I last shaved with this FS DE Razor. I remembered how aggressive it was. The top plate of the razor doesn't bend the blade equally so one side is mild, the other side is aggressive. Aside from that, I had a quite nice BBS with three nicks. The nicks were shallow and vanished in a few minutes. I need to be more careful with the aggressive side of FS razor. Have a great weekend!

Superb Saturday Shave Barrister & Mann makes an excellent soap, as many others have said before. I love the combination of Shea butter and lanolin on my face. The post shave feeling is better than MWF for me. The scent of Ferox is a complex peppery grapefruit to my nose. SC101 + Personna blue is a hard team to beat for me. I keep going back and forth with which of my brushes I like best... Today my Plisson won out. HTGAM both started and finished my shave in style and performance. The pre shave soap provides a little lather boost and a light menthol cool, while the bay rum AS tonic adds a welcome menthol kick and leaves my face feeling smooth and taught. It's a great option for those who don't like alcohol aftershaves. Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol Soap: Barrister & Mann Ferox Brush: Plisson Synthetic Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101 Blade: Personna lab blue AS: HTGAM Synergy Bay Rum Tonic
