    Razor: Frankentech
    Blade: Lords Platinum
    Splash: Wal-mart Witch Hazel 86%
    Post: Pinaud Clubman Classic AS

Sunday morning! Usually my Sunday shaves are some of my most enjoyable as I’m not rushed and I take more time with my prep, plus I have my music wafting through the house. This mornings playlist was mostly a mix of smooth jazz and 80s RnB. But anyway, todays shave was not to be included in that category....

  3. SUNDAY
    Early Morning Shave
Grabbed my old Herskovitz 6/8 for a pre-dawn shave this morn. Gave it 25 on the linen & 50 on the leather strop. Excellent, smooth shave resulted. The PdP soap is decent enough—more challenging to lather than some of the other French soaps I've been spoiled by. Overall, a DFS!

    Have a blessed Sunday, all!

  4. Sunday 7/13/14

    Prep: Gaia face scrub
    Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
    Scuttle Georgetown Pottery
Razor: slim adjustable set to 5
    Blade: Voskhod
    soap:

    Provence Sante

    Post: Alum sprayed on
    Witch Hazel: Generic unscented

Another fine shave with Provence Sante. Today I only did a 2 pass shave because I was in a hurry. But, whenever I shave with Sante, a 2 pass feels like a 3 pass. This has quickly become my favorite. Following right behind are (in order) L'Occitane Cade, Pre de Provence, MDC, and MWF.

But a darn nice lather and IMHO worth the effort.

1952 Gillette Super Speed Black Tip X2
    Feather Stainless Blade
Williams SS in Hull Pottery Old Spice Mug
    Georgetown Scuttle
    Omega Pro Barbershop Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Gold Bond Moisturizing Lotion
    Old Spice Classic ASL

Old School 50's shave this morning. The black tip is one of my favorites (probably because I was at the age of becoming aware of razors in 1952 and remember those Gillette commercials on TV and in the newspapers.) The 40's Super Speeds are hard to beat for comfort and shaving ability. The Black Tip was only made for two years which makes them unique but, they can be found at a very reasonable price. The finish was the old reliable Old Spice ASL that my Dad always used. (He had to because I gave him a bottle every Christmas. lol) Outstanding shave this morning; have a great Sunday! :happy005:

  7. Sunday:
hot shower w/Yardley English Lavender bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Frog straight 1 pass
    Schick J2 1 passes
    Schick (3) 1 passes
    EverReady 150 boar
D R Harris Marlborough soap in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
Murray & Lanman Kananga Water cologne

Just shaved yesterday so I didn't need much plus I hurt my wrist fixing the bosses' car (SWMBO) yesterday.

First time with the Marlborough and I made a good lather unfortunately this vintage brush still has a bit of vinegar smell from getting recently cleaned so I wasn't able to enjoy the "timeless fragrance of noble character".

  8. Hey Friends,

just endet a really great shave.

    Prep 1: hot shower
Prep 2: Face wash with Musgo Real "Classic Scent" Glycerin soap
    Brush: HJM Black Synthetic Fibre
    Razor: Toro Mastiff
    Blade: Personna Platinum
    Aftershave: Musgo Real "Oak Moss"

Received the razor yesterday. Fantastic!!! Not too aggressive, but you can feel the razor shaving. It´s a pleasure to shave with the Toro because it´s a real "Sound-Machine"...what a noise while cutting the whiskers. Beautiful.

The Oak Moss is a fantastic scent and in combination with the woodsy scent of the Tulach Ard...wow!!!

So my friends, in a few minutes it´s time to watch the Final between Germany and Argentina. Hope Germany will win. ;) It´s time to get the 4th star on the Jersey...:)

Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and the game and take care of you.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

  9. Guys, I'm home. I have been in the hospital since Thursday evening. I had been sick since Sunday, and I self medicated until it got too bad. I saw my doctor on Wednesday and he put me on some antibiotics, but the next day things got worse so he directed me to the ER and was admitted. So, I had a technology fast. It turns out I had a very bad bout of prostatitis. I had to be catheterized and get IV antibiotics for three days. It was good to get that catheter out and get home today. I have 4 weeks of oral antibiotics, but I should fully recover. My wife brought me some basics, but I made my daily shaves. So, for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings:

    Noxzema Classic Clean
    Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap
    VDH Natural Boar
    Schick M Adjustable
    Schick Injector Stainless Blade
    No after shaves

I am so glad to be home. I did get great care, and the food was really good.

This is the first time I've used Noxzema for a SC since the early 70's when I was in the service. Very nice shave but missed using a brush. The brush in the photo (handle) came out of my junk drawer and I probably wont glue the knot but might do a temporary glue job because it would be at the height I'd like to try it at. Have a good one.
