New to TSD. This is my first post for my first ever DE shave. The gear is what I found locally after much searching.

    Prep: Hot towel
Soap: Camamu - Bay Rhum in grandpa's old mug
    Brush: Uknown boars hair
Razor: vintage Gillette open comb and other vintage Gillette (is stamped REGUS and is gold plated)
Blade: generic local store brand (the only ones I could find)
    AS: Nivea moisturizing lotion

10 days growth. Wore my arm out trying to get a decent lather out of the Camamu. Finally gave up and made do with minimal foam. Even without rich lather, the Camamu gave nice slick shave (though I have nothing to compare it to). The Regus (Is that the actual model name ?) plugged up on the first stroke. The open comb was awesome! Not a single plug up. Reason alone to never use a cassette razor again. Used the Regus on subsequent passes.

What a great feeling! Totally different, and better, than my multiblades. Left a goatee so I could try out a couple of vintage SE I have, after I get some blades later this afternoon.

If anyone can identify the models of the two Gillette's in the attached photo, please let me know. Thanks

I'll do my best to stay on the path.
    Thank you so much.
Low grade fever right now, but that is to me expected. Just laying low and healing.

    Thanks, Patrick
I had one of these probably 15 years ago. I had forgot how brutal it can be. You guys need to take care of your prostates. They get cantankerous as you get older.

I like your picture. The one on the left is a fat handle tech, and the other is a ball end tech. REGUS is registered United States.

Gary, I decided to go with junk drawer second option handle. So I used a different handle than todays pic. It's temp glued so I'll use it in the morning.
I had to go to the ER and get cathed about 1 A.M. one night post surgery. I swear, I think the nurse thought she was entered in a calf roping competition and it was a timed event. Anyway it turned out to be a pretty embarrassing event for my wife. I told the nurse exactly what I thought of her technique Marine Corp DI style. Of course it's where my wife works too, lol.
    Get well soon.

    Shave:
°Dorco Trac II cart and handle
    °Barbasol Arctic Chill foam
    °Sideburn lop-trim with the G-bar

    2 pass BBS

    °menthalum Dickinsons a/s, followed by Brut Splash-on

    Self-Haircut:
I was getting shaggy so it was time to break out the trusty Playtex Hair Cutter (that isn't mine pictured). Takes about 15 minutes to do it right. Back of neck shave with the Trac II. Saved myself at least $15. The Playtex is fine old implement, highly recommended for you gents wanting to save some cash (esp. if you have a wife who can do it for you).

After hand-washing and painting the front of the house today, I feel sssssssooooooo much better now, esp. the menthol on the back of me neck. :)
