The R41 is more 'aggressive' than most razors. It depends on which model one has. The older 2011 version of the R41 is much 'scarier' than the newer model.
no,,smooth as butter,,glides like polished glass,,,,just look at my avitar if you dont believe me .........
I've not encountered anthrax nor been in prison, but I have had the pleasure of using the R41(s)...the Mühles are worth the risk.
Seriously, I enjoyed your writeup. Having heard so many people talk about how borderline unusable that razor is, good to know that The Rule still applies (YMMV).
It's the most efficient razor I have (2013). I say get one. Buy a bulldog handle for it, now you'll have the best DE known to mankind.
come on man, can't be that bad. tons of folks are scared of straights too. then again, for the few who are willing to bravethe storm, take the time to learn, risk a few drops of blood. they say they get the best shaves ever. I'd say it would be worth the risk
I've actually drawn more blood with the R41 than with any straight. But that was during my 'learning curve' with the 2011 version. Now, it's a piece of cake....
There's a lot of blade exposure on that R41. If your technique is sound however, it shouldn't bite you. I just make sure to avoid distractions when I use mine though it really only gets used when I've gone a couple/few days without shaving or I'm feeling a little butch.
