This was my first wet shave in two weeks. It was an amazing BBS.

Don't take your shaves for granted, for the past two weeks, I was dry shaving with a Bic disposable. Water was usually a hassle to get a hold of.

I am also still recovering from repeated exposure to poison ivy. Some moron commander decided to camp us in a huge grove of poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. It never seemed like that big of a deal until I was sleeping in it, couldn't wash my clothes, and went days without a shower.

    Saturday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Edwin Jagger DE8911
    Blade: Rapira (2)
    Brush: Vie-Long White Horse Hair
    S.Cream: Derby Menthol
    AS: Barbasol Brisk

2 days growth beard shaved nicely with 2 passes with a BBS result all around. Derby menthol shaving cream smells exactly mint oil. I was expecting something with much cooler effect and a different scent but that's ok.
    Have a great weekend folks!

Helpppppppppppppppp - will somebody here please tell me how I can break my Stirling Glacial soap addiction? These fantastic soaps seem to be the only ones I get maximum pleasure from. Any suggestions will be welcomed and appreciated. :) The Lemon Chill delighted me with its wonderful scent which is such a perfect balance of menthol and lemon, its lather is slick, rich, and stable - not as thick as the Wintergreen or Obsidian, but still very good and its menthol power hits you like a ton of icy bricks right away. This Avalon Organics peppermint moisturizer smells like mint chocolate and has great skincare with a very pleasant cooling effect. I don't think the Rubby Dubby Doo needs any description - we menthol junkies all know the beauty of it. This shave couldn't be better. ;) :D

2nd outing with the CRSW B&B. Excellent quick, thick lather with a great scent. The Slim and Polsilver held up their end for a great smooth, close, and nick free shave. I finished up with Speick…always good!

    Gillette Super Speed '47
    DORCO Platinum ST300

The TABAC Shaving Soap face-lathered very easily with my Frank Shaving Finest badger brush. Two passes with my Gillette Super Speed '47 and a DORCO Platinum ST300 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a warm water rinse, alum block, and cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Mennen Skin Bracer after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Tabacstag!
Another excellent Tabac shave. I'm getting used to my Rubberset, the lathering technique is not dramatically different from my Plisson, but I seem to need more soap on the brush to get similar lather quality. I get a more scrubby feeling with the Rubberset, too.
This NEW long comb is really an excellent razor for me. I can see why many people feel this was the pinnacle of Gillette design and performance. It is clearly more aggressive than my SC101, but it's also a very smooth shaver for me, too. It is an improvement over the Old Type in terms of forgiveness, without sacrificing much efficiency.
Captain's Choice has a very nice Sandalwood aftershave in the works. It gives a short lived alcohol smack, followed by a nice warm dry down. I really like it.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: Tabac!
    Brush: Rubberset 400
    Razor: Gillette NEW LC
    Blade: Personna lab blue
    AS: Captain's Choice Sandalwood

I spent some time trimming my mustache and goatee this morning, made it crooked, then straightened it out again. Need to get one of those beard saver things! ;)
3 passes with the Tech and I was good to go. Just putting it out there, I'm not a big fan of the Nancy Boy cream.

    Saturday:
hot shower w/Pinaud Clubman scented body wash
    Somerset Tough Stubble PSO
    Gillette Slim (9) 3 passes
    Rotbart Extra Dunn (3)
    VDH boar
GFT GFT cream (sample) in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    alum
    Pinaud Clubman AS

Disappointing shave today. I had mentally geared up for a great shave pairing the Slim with a Rotbart but the GFT let me down. I need to look at my journal to see how this cream performed the last time I used some. It seemed to whip up just fine in the mug and I had plenty of product but the lather didn't want to go on very well and it dried on my face before I finished. I added as much water as I could without making it too thin but continued to get the same result. The other problem was there wasn't any glide so I ended up nicking my Adam's Apple which I never do because it hardly sticks out. I smeared up with some straight glycerin before my third lather and that seem to help the razor slide better but all in all it was a poor way to start the morning.
