    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
    Razor: Gem Junior
    Blade: CVS Single Edge (1)
    Lather: TOBS Jermyn St.
    Brush: Oscar11 w/ Omega 20248 Knot
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Pinaud Lime Musk EDT

I've heard so many great things about single edge razors that I've been keeping my eye out for one. Today, my wife and I were in an antique shop and they happened to have a gold Gem Junior in near mint condition. I paid $20 for it. I don't know whether or not that was a good price, but it is a beautiful razor and I wanted it, so I got it.

I just finished my first shave with it and the results were outstanding. I still have a long way to go learning to use this razor though. The only areas I had any trouble with are my chin and moustache area. The chin was fine, but it took a few minutes to figure out a way to get it all. The moustache area was by far the toughest. It took a few minutes to figure out how to get the enormous head of the razor close enough to my nose to get all of the whiskers without cutting myself, but I did it.

I used CVS blades because that's all I could find. Does anyone know who makes these blades? I'm sure there are better ones out there, but what? Where can I get them? I'm guessing mail order.

    Have a great day!

Thanks for the info. I thought maybe they were Personna. It did a really good job for me. Since I shaved so late in the day today, I probably won't shave tomorrow. I'll try it again Monday morning and see what kind of results I get.

    Schick Eversharp I2 Hydro-Magic

    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Today, I continue to shave completely with cold water. The TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar brush. Two passes with my Schick Eversharp I2 Hydro-Magic and a Schick Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... What a nice shave!

    Hey Friends,

    here is my today´s shave:

    -Prep I: hot shower
-Prep II: Preshave mix of Vita Horm and Kneipp Almond Oil
-Soap: Tcheon Fung Sing Anniversary soap "Italian Fern"
    -Razor: Toro Mastiff
-Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (6th shave)
    -Brush: Semogue Barbear Classico "Texugo"
    -Aftershave: not necessary :)

The combination of my Preshave mix and the Italian Fern smells heavenly. The Tcheon Fung Sing creates awesome lather in seconds, which is stable, thick, VERY slick and protective. Great buy!!! After the shave my skin don´t needed any Aftershave, because of my Preshave. My skin feels very relaxed right now. That´s like it should be every time.

I wish all of you a great time and great shaves. Enjoy.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal facial cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Big Ben SS (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech ASB
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

I don't always do an ATG pass, but when I do, it's a good bet that I'd overloaded my brush. That was certainly the case this morning, as 40 swirls on the puck produced so much creamy, fragrant lather that I didn't have the heart to stop at two passes. I caught the baby as a result, with one tiny weeper above my Adam's Apple for my trouble, and the alum took care of that straight away. Just because I can wax rhapsodic about the One-X doesn't mean I'm not still a LOGGer (Loyal Order of Ginger's Garden-er) as well.

    Sunday:

    After my shower:
Proraso Green Crema Pre/Dopo Barba :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Rapira day 7
Proraso Green SS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer
Mennen Skin Bracer AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Let's call this a good DFS+ shave - the Rapira blade is pretty well kaput so I just couldn't make it go the extra half mile in order to get BBS, but I'm still satisfied. The Proraso Green pre/aftershave cream felt nice and cool on my face, and when I lathered up the matching soap which is the older version really gave me a nice menthol punch. The Skin Bracer can be called a great face-freezer with a scent that I love and that Madame hates. Ah well, c'est la vie! ;) :D

    Sunday

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Cocoa Butter Bath Soap
    Soap: RazoRock Artisan Classic
Razor: Gillette Super Speed Red Tip
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (2)
Brush: Plisson Lucite #12 Grey Badger-22mmx56mm
Aftershave: Krampert’s Bay Rum Acadian Spice

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

I used the new RR Artisan Classic again. Great soap! The Red Tip and Platinum always do well together. Great smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Krampert’s Bay Rum, always a winner.
