I just use an old jam jar ( I think you Americans call it jelly), I just unscrew the lid put the blade in and screw the lid back on again, and keep it far away from the kids. When the jar is full there is the question of how to dispose of it, no problem, I will just send the jar to Mr Shaverman so he has more blades for his sideshow geek act .
Just found this on the bay. Just wondering if anyone would buy this though. I mean unless I am missing something it looks like an old beer can with a hole in it. What do you think? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Double-Edge...t=US_Shaving_Hair_Removal&hash=item19eae0a862
We use both terms. Jelly, however, is just flavo(u)red goo and no bits of fruit. Jam has real bits of fruit.
Right now I'm using blades that have a used blade holder in the back but I plan on taking a prescription medicine bottle and cutting a slot in it then throw it away when it fills up.
I've seen those for sale on a couple of sites. I'd never use one, and I'm guessing someone punched a can, made a mess and hopefully rinsed it out. Pretty good mark up. Not sure how you could sell them as it's one of those things that you can figure out how to make just by looking at it.
I have young children too bro. I bought a blade bank for $3 and when it's full I will transfer them to a soda can and crush the can. Recommended by the guy at my local shaving store.
I just use an empty tin container with lid. Nothing fancy, inexpensive and kept in my top drawer where it'll be safe until my daughter is old enough to understand the danger within.
Great ideas for blade banks. Mine is just an old olive jar which I punched a slot in with a chisel, painted the top white, and superglued onto the jar. That way, the lid can not come off. When it's full, I'll be able to toss it with confidence.
In Australia we have these little sugar free mints in great little tins that are WAAYYYY big enough for a few months worth of used blades. I eat these (Mints) anyway, so that problem was solved in two seconds flat. I then store the tin in a nearby location where kids can't get to but I can reach easily. IF you really have "Collectafobia" you could always empty the contents of these into a big coffee tin or something and put THAT on the top shelf in the garage/shed or where-ever.
I'm not as creative. Sorry. I just use a larger medicine bottle with a child-proof cap. I took a blank label and wrote "used razor blades" on it ( for the sanitation crew when I toss it) and taped it to the bottle.
I keep it simple- several layers of toilet paper wrapped around each used blade, then tossed in the trash. No chance of cuts and no containers to deal with in the bathroom...
