    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
Razor: EJ DE89 w/ Weber Classic Handle
    Blade: Personna Blue Lab (2)
    Lather: Arko Shaving Soap
    Brush: Oscar11 w/ Omega 20248 Knot
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: British Sterling

Not my best shave ever, but far from my worst. It wasn't as close as I usually get. However, I was just sitting here reviewing my shave in my mind and realized that I didn't make my ATG pass. That would explain why it's not as close as usual. Still, a DFS result. I guess I need to concentrate more on my shave when I'm shaving instead of letting my mind wander to all the other things I have going on.

    Have a great day!

    Wednesday:
hot shower w/Pears Transparent bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Gillette Aristocrat 2+ passes
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless (1)
    EverReady 150 boar
TOBS Jermyn St cream (sample) in a warm bowl
    Thayers w/aloe
    Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve AS

Very nice shave today. First time with this 7 O'Clock green having already tried the "other" green (Thanks, Dale). The first pass was so smooth I was halfway through it before I remembered I was supposed to be testing the blade. Of course, I could have just been daydreaming and more than one factor may have contributed to today's success. The Aristocrat is a very smooth razor and I'm using a new formula pre-shave that came out pretty close to what I'm aiming for in a PSO so I'm anxious to try this blade with some different set-ups.

    Vacation shave

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: G. Wostenholm and Son CANUCK I.XL
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Cream: Proraso Blue
Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) + touchups
    Post: Alum, Arko Ice Mint

I went back to the Proraso Blue for a couple reasons, mainly because it is a great cream. It had also been suggested that there was a touch of menthol. I'm not surprised, but could not detect the menthol. I figured the Arko Ice Mint After Shave would make up for it. Well at least I got being wrong out of the way nice and early.

Stayed up a little too late last night; I was able to shake the cob webs out buy the time I put blade to face though. The first pass didn't seem to remove much beard and I was thinking I might need to add on a third pass if things didn't improve. Well I used the alum to help stretch out my face and took my time with the second pass, and the shave improved. Other than my jawline, I was happy with the shave after the second pass. I had more then enough lather so I made the call to target my jawline/neck area. Much better, almost a BBS; but almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. That extra pass/touchup unfortunately came with some irritation too. Seeing as I already had the alum out, I braced my self for the sting. It wasn't as intense as I feared!

I've put all my other gear away and have been using this kit daily. About the only thing that changes is my blade as I have a variety of them to use up.

    iKon Slant Shave Two
Today I only needed two passes, which felt smooth while it was happening, but left my face a bit tender. I used Ferox because I love the post shave feel, and the Gondolier AS is nurturing, too. This was not a bad shave... I'm still learning this slant head. I noticed a different sound from this one, too... Higher pitched than with my other razors.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: B&M Ferox
    Brush: Plisson Synthetic
    Razor: iKon Slant
    Blade: Personna lab blue (2)
    AS: HTGAM Gondolier AS/Cologne

Ty-It does have menthol, but you will notice it is far down on the list.

    Blade: Gem Blue Star

Today I was having a great shave until I went a little fast on my jawline and nicked myself. I know it was all in my head because I was thinking about how long it had been since I had gotten nicked just as I nicked myself. Other than the nick, it was a very good 3 pass shave.

I will again use the WTG-XTG-ATG method. Being as it has worked well and produces a great DFS Shave. I did get a BBS Shave on Monday Morning. I did not have any "Nick's or Weeper's" using this method. I will continue to using my Wilkinson Sword DE Blades until the weekend. I put in a New Razor Blade today. I could not take another shave with that blade seemed dull, And seemed to pull rather than glide smoothly on my face. Then as I said before on Friday . Both Saturday and Sunday , were "NO Shave Days" Being as I put in a new blade Sunday Night in preparation for Monday morning for now I will continue using my Weber Razor with a new Razor Blade.{ Wilkinson Sword DE Blades} I will not need to put a different blade in my razor . I also received some shaving soap samples and a package of Polisilver Razor Blade. I will wait until next week to use them and see how well it works for me. Also I decided to switch to my Above the Tie R-1 and see how it works for me. I will switch the short handle on the R-1 plate to the M-1 plate and use the long handle with the R-1 base plate. I have been dealing with several problems and have not posted as I have been. SWMbO has been having problems with her knee and my 97 year old Aunt has had a severe stroke and is being moved to a Hospice Center today. (doesn't look good) Last week they (my cousin's that live in LA area) moved her from her home to a Assisted Living Facility in Pasadena. (an excuse to go to the Old Town Shaving Company, less than a mile from it) So now she is in a Hospital that has one of the best Stroke treatment Center in Southern Taxifornia (aka So. California)

    Prep: CeraVe facial cleanser
    Soap: HTGAM "Non Scents"
Brush: Oscar11 custom with HIS knot
Razor: Gillette Tech head on ShaveCraft handle
    Blade: Gillette SharpEdge yellow
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

Excellent close, comfortable shave. The Tech head works so much better with a hefty handle rather than the little ball head handle that was the original equipment.

I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate DD's comments on the Futur to be: very efficient, very audible, great results, and potentially slippery —the razor, not the dome—although that result IS a possibility!
Having owned one myself, I appreciated that razor.
