@Omelmad - Once I got my Omega brush MWF lathered so much easier. I actually removed the know from my Vie-Long, now I need to re-knot it. And, yes Williams is only a dollar or slightly more per puck in the States.
Really? I have an omega knot. But I have only used my Plisson synthetic and Turkish #6. I will try it with my boar next.
Received my PC Woodcraft 24mm Silver Tip Brush today. This pic was taken before my test lather to get the bloom started. I will be using it in the morning with Tabac. I wanted (needed) a longer brush to use with my Cobalt Blue Old Spice mug.
I was listening to a podcast and there was someone who said that they use distilled water in their shaving bowl and with that they could lather any soap. He is convinced that it is the quality of the water that makes the difference. Anybody tried this?
The brushnsoapnblade podcast is fabulous and he essentially says the same thing. Kind of funny actually.
Got my lather bowl and American blend AS from Knockout Shave today. The bowl looks and feels great, can't wait to try it out. The American Blend is a great old school scent. It will definitely go into my rotation. Great turnaround too. I ordered on Sunday afternoon and received it today. (Wednesday). I also got a birthyear (1965) slim adjustable from etsy today so it was a 2fer in the mailbox today.
I love it when that happens...double package arrival. Nice items, enjoy. Could you post an pic of the lather bowl in action? I really like how the shape curves in to help keep the lather cloud from escaping...
Where I live we have very clean water. More so than both the danes and the swedes (this might be sibling rivalry talking) and I have lathered up a Trumpers soap with pretty good result. Not great, but good enough for a decent shave. So if using distilled water would mimic my results it is probably worth the effort. Please give it a try and write a full report afterwards
I received this 20s Old Type today. It was in need of a cleaning. I used an electric toothbrush, dental floss, and tooth picks to get the green out of the teeth. It cleaned up pretty good. Click on the thumbnails.
Here you go. I've been breaking in an Omega Pro 49 so I whipped up a quick lather with some Shave Den Signiture scent. The bowl worked great.
