Came across this video from Bluebeard and I have to say I found it to have great production value and really informative. It seems like they have a rather extensive range of products: http://www.bluebeards-revenge.co.uk/ It's a UK based company but many of their offerings are available on Amazon. Anyone have any experience with their products?
One interesting thing about the video is how he applied the cream to the brush. Never thought of doing it that way. Is that how you all do it?
True, but it don't glob soap on my finger and slap it on my brush. I whip it on the soap for about 30 seconds to get soap on my brush and then get a good froth using my beard.
I kinda like it. May try that tomorrow. May work better with a badger brush than a boar brush though.
I am not sure I like that technique (ya, like I am an expert)...I like the idea of getting a good coat of soap on all the tips.
What I do with creams it I but the amount Im gonna use on my palm, and then load the brush with the cream so distribute it evenly
I saw a barber's shave video a while ago and he put the cream deep into the loft of the brush like this guy did. Seemed like a good idea and it's how I've face lathered with creams ever since.
I never was intrigued enough to go the shavette route (went directly to a standard straight razor from a DE razor). For the cost of entry on a razor in the vid, its easy to see why some folks opt to go with the disposable. Some who have used both claim its an slightly different feel and requires a varied technique than that of using a standard straight razor.
