Waited for wife and kids to leave the house to enjoy a quiet shave. Three or so days growth, so... °Gillette long comb NEW °new Big Ben blade °VDH °big Omega brush I'm usually somewhat rushed when I shave mornings, so I spent a few extra minutes wetting and whipping up the face lather. I do believe it made a difference -- for all the fast blade buffing I did in my 2 pass shave (WTG/ATG), I ended up with not one nick nor weeper. Didn't even need the alum Witch Hazel I often require; jumped right to a generous dose of old Avon "Excalibur" after shave (lovely stuff). All in all, the most relaxing and pleasant shave I can recall having in quite some time. Have a good weekend, gents.

Saturday Muhle R101 - Gillette Green MdC and Proraso Red SC Muhle Silvertip Fibre XL Lucido Splash Simpson Balm Today marked the end of my MdC. I was hoping to have enough for my shave, but it was only enough for one pass. Hence the proraso. That aside, I'm getting used to the razor and had a surprisingly smooth shave. I can see why people love the R41 head.
J.S. Holler MWF homemade badger Very nice shave this morning. The knot is just temporarily tacked into this handle. I have other plans for this knot. Have a good one.
Razor: Schick J Injector Blade: Personna injector Brush: Muhle Black Fiber Synthetic Lather: Provence Sante I'm impressed that a veggie soap can be this good... It is among the best soaps I've used- tallow or not. It refuses to play with my SEs for some reason though. I will need to test it with the PTFE coated GEMs in the future.

I had it set on 5, but tomorrow I will try it on 6. I think 5 was just a little too mild. Of course, it could just be that I'm not used to the razor yet. Either way, I'm ready for tomorrow to get here so that I can shave again! Have a great day!
Tried the GSB for the first time today. It was a good shave, no irritation, but didn't feel as smooth as my favorite platinum blades. I expected to be blown away after everything I've read.
Unwrapped my Gillette (p2) 1970 "Black Beauty" , WOW! Great shape, case is like new, blade case period correct. I'm very happy. Let's see "Black Beauty"' reminds me of Pirates, so I just named this razor "The Black Pearl". I think Captain Jack Sparrow would approve. So to keep in the pirate theme you gotta have Bay Rum. And pirates like everything black so VHD mug and Badger Brush. Aye matey! Maca Root sounds like something Jack would use. So that's in. Yo ho, yo ho! Jack Black sound like a pirate so the AS Gel is in. Throw in some Witch Hazel and a fresh Feather blade and we have an accord. Savvy? Great shave with "The Black Pearl" set on 6 with the new Feather. WTG XTG on my face. Set on 4 XTG ATG on my neck and upper lip. The lather from the Maca Root is in my top 2 with the Castle Forbes being 1. YMMV you scurvy dog. Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, to help keep the scurvy at bay. After swabbing the deck the Bay Rum for a Shiver me timbers shave. yo-ho-ho it's the pirates life for me matey!
That brush remind me of a shot of Stoli with gold flakes in it that I had on top of the mountain in Breckenridge Colorado.
