Cool. Thanks. But seriously, you should read the books. They're awesome. Then review them. Please. [/shameless obligatory plug for a friend] Really though, they are great fun. With the recently announced news that Mullaney is cowriting the new Shane Black (Iron Man 3) helmed Remo Williams reboot, I'm pretty excited to see some renewed interest in his writing. He wrote something like 26 of the (best) Destroyer novels (the source material for Remo). I'm hopeful it draws a little positive attention to some of my art.
I had a pretty good day today. I've been fighting with setting up a new proxy server and finally got "fixed" one of our filtering policies. Now to fix the youtube stuff on Monday...
Kind of a boring day. Was looking forward to the weekend until I realized I don't get to sleep in at all.
I participated in my first outdoor archery tournament today (novice division.) I shot 631 out of a maximum possible 720. My goal for the day was 600, so I am very happy. I am also happy that I was not out-shot by the 2 small children shooting next to me.
The tournament is finished. The 2nd day is harder as you shoot at smaller target faces. Plus, the sun was in my eyes for much of the shoot. S my score was lower, but still one I was satisfied with (and I did, once again, manage to out-shoot the 2 little kids.) I actually came home with a 1st place trophy for my division, which was Novice Compound Female, age 13+. Basically this means I am the New Jersey State Champ in the Old Lady Beginner Division. This was also my first competition outside my own club; a big event where I was shooting in front of total strangers. I didn't make a fool of myself or score dead last, so I am really quite pleased.
Thanks for all the good wishes & encouragement. BTW, I am really proud of our club. We fielded 7 entrants- 6 kids & myself. All came home with a trophy or 2nd place ribbon.
Excellent! You did better than us a few years back. We entered the Zealand Indoor Championship a few year back with 7 archers and occupied the last 7 places. We had a great time none the less. I guess we're not that competitive.
I started a tax class with H&R Block last Saturday. It's odd to be back in a class setting after 5 years. There's so much to learn, but this could be a great career to get my family started. Let's hope I can pull this off
20+ degrees and sunny yesterday, rainy and 8 degrees when I got up, going down to 2 degrees and there is already snow.....'nuff said I think.
