I won a birth quarter (S2) Super Adjustable on eBay! $34 shipped. Short handle. Based on the description and pics it's in nice shape, fingers crossed it all checks out once I get it. It was listed as a Slim, which I think depressed bidding a bit. Folks looking for an SA weren't finding it, and folks finding it were looking for a Slim. I found it because I had a saved search on the date code. Not that I got it ridiculously cheap, but on the lower end of what they seem to have been going for lately.
A puck of Stirling Black Ice - I wanted Glacial Obsidian but they were out of stock. 25 Blades of Polsilver Iridium blades. Weishi Razor in gunmetal black - these razors have received mixed reviews - so I thought I'd check it out for myself. 10 Bic Chrome Blades for my more aggressive razors. Heard they were a more forgiving blade. Mitchell Woolfat Shave shave soap due to all the hubris that is abounding in re to this soap.
Having used both, they are of comparable quality and fragrance. The GO, however, has enough menthol to freeze the most determined face...
This has been like Christmas here for the last couple of days. Yesterday my Krona arrived... And today my 1957 (C3) ball tip 3-piece showed up.
I got me Palmolive yesterday, thanks JoAnna, now I am trying to patiently wait for my MMBT. The nice thing about SEs is I can get Blades locally, CVS, Treet and GEM.
The ignorance of some sellers. That blade is placed over the blade stops and it very well could damage the spring. I received one Damaskeene in which the seller loaded a blade- complete with cardboard wrapping. This damaged the spring so that the blade would move back when shaving and it had weak force in closing. Have you received it yet?
RAD strikes again... I just scored my Fatboy on eBay. Thinking I paid quite a bit less than average. ($30.) It looks to be neglected, so hoping it's just gunk and other stuff that's easily remedied. Now how to explain this to the wife. Maybe as an investment? Even if I find it's not as restorable as I believe it to be, I figure I could at least flip it on the 'Bay for more than I paid. Though that idea is certainly not my intent... I'm hoping it cleans up well and joins its other kin in the quickly-growing shave den that has sprouted up here in the last month.
