1. ...Or as close as a consensus as we're possibly able to get when it comes to the subjective minefield of fragrances.

  2. Good choice on the sampler pack! When it does arrive—before applying any to your face—be certain to SHAKE the bottle well to ensure a through mix. Ogallala seems more prone to separating than other AS compositions. Good stuff, however...

  5. For the guys not liking the overpowering cloves/spicyness of the ones listed above, Lucky Tiger might be worth a try. It is quite nice but not overpowering at all. TOBS is similar but more expensive. Me, I'm really starting to like the burn of the clovey/spicey ones (CC and HTGAM).
  6. If you've never tried Meehan's BR, you should. Made in California in small batches by the family.

  7. I took a chance and picked up a bottle of Ogallala bay rum, sage and cedar. I really love the scent, the only beef I have is it doesn't last very long. Great splash with a nice tingle.
  8. Thread Revival

1- Ogalla Bay Rum (& Sandalwood)
    2- Clubman VIBR

The only 2 I've used. VIBR + my Covid mask leaves me smelling like a giant stick of Dentyne gum, which I enjoyed.

Looking forward to trying Captain's Choice and St John's. BR has such varied interpretations.

  9. I really like Derby City Chop Shop's Winter Reserve. It's one of the more conservative interpretations of Bay Rum. It's also rather expensive.

It's on the opposite end of the spectrum from Oogalla bay rum. Mellow rather than punchy. It also uses bourbon and witch hazel as a base, which contributes to the mellow vanilla overtones in it.

Edit: Price is somewhat accounted for in that it comes in 7.4 fl. oz., rather than the 4.2 fl. oz of most competitors. Shipping, is as always, painfully expensive. I buy 2 bottles at a time to offset some of the shipping costs.

  11. Of the ones I've tried, I like Clubman , Col. Conk and Captain's Choice the best. Also like another one, name escapes me, but it's too expensive for me to recommend. These three are affordable and great IMO
