    Ladies & Gentleman,

    today´s wonderful (cold water) shave:

    Prep: homemade Preshave
Soap: I Coloniali (sample of the new version)
    Brush: HJM Black Fibre
    Razor: Merkur 1904 OC
    Blade: Triton R3
    Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

Wonderful cold water shave. This fresh feeling on the skin in combination with the cooling effect of the I Coliniali and the Floid Vigoroso is fantastic. This soap smells sooooo heavenly. I have to buy a full puck when the sample is used.

Have a great time my Friends.

    Take care of you.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Shave of the day

    Pre- Hot shower

    Soap/cream- Haslinger, schafmilch rasierseife

    Brush- The body shop Synthetic

    Razor- Gillette slim adjustable (3)

    Blade- Astra SP

Post- Cold water rinse, Speick for men and Nivea aftershave balm

A nice 2 pass shave WTG and some XTG strokes on stubborn patches.

Haslinger is a very nice soap. I like it a lot =) very nice performance.

And The body shop synthetic doesn't disappoint either. Very soft tips and a lot of backbone. Very happy with purchase.

Loving the Speick, the alcohol sting and the cooling of the menthol balance each other very well =)

I don't think I will change the setting on the Slim, I'm getting very comfortable shaves on 3.

To this day I cannot understand why the Noxzema cream was discontinued because it was so fantastic - in fact, in my honest opinion it's the absolute best cream ever. The scent is so old-school, traditional, and nice, it lathers so easily and richly, and it gives such perfect skincare with a great menthol effect. I sent away a tube to a dear friend of mine here, and I'm keeping the remaining four tubes for myself because there's no way I could get this stuff again. The Polar Ice aftershave felt great afterwards. This was a shave from Paradise. ;) :D

Mastro Livi RWL34, 15/16 Full Hollow, Spanish Point

I love this razor! Today shave has been superb thanks to a magnificent couple: this Mastro Livi straight razor and Martin De Candre soap, one of my very favorite shaving soaps! I am very fond of this razor, not only because it was the very first Mastro Livi straight razor of which I personally witnessed the making, but also because it is an absolutely superb shaver! I bought this razor more than one year ago and, so far, I have never honed it and it still shaves like the very first day. Not even a touch up with chromium oxide. Moreover, it has olive wood scales, a type of wood I like a lot because of its beautiful pattern and for being a typical wood of Umbria which trees give us an extraordinary oil, also good to be used as a pre or post shave oil.
    • Pre-Shave: Myrsol Emulsión
    • Soap: Martin De Candre Fougère
    • Brush: Muhle Nr. 281 H 23, Fine Badger, Pine - 21 mm - Size M
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm Stropping
    • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL34, 15/16 Full Hollow, Spanish Point
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: Floïd The Genuine After Shave

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Croap: RazoRock Cumba Cheech
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (6, 7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech AS balm
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Normally, I love the performance on the RazoRock croaps, but today there was something off on my water ratio. The first pass had the soap a little too soupy, making it harder to work up enough cushion, while the last pass tended toward pastiness, which didn't help a blade on its 3rd day glide as much as I'm used to (sounds a little like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, I think). My previous success with letting the witch hazel dry more before applying the AS balm didn't repeat itself today, so that was probably due more to my skin at the time than an epiphany of technique. All in all, I got a nearly BBS shave, but there's enough burn that the blade will be retired before tomorrow's shave.

    9/21/14 - SOTD

Prep: Warm wash with Stirling Naked & Smooth.
    Lather: Hobbyist made lavender
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M horsehair
    Razor: Gillette New SC
    Blade: Treet Durasharp Carbon (2)
    Post: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

This was the 30th day in a row to use this soap. The photos show the approximate size of the puck before and what it looked like before I lathered up today. I expect I will get at least 30 more lathers out of it. This ought to bring my soap cost down to below a nickel per day. I think I'll stay saving money if I don't buy any more soap until 2016.

2 pass shave with no surprises.

    Aristocrat
Today was my first shave with a TTO, specifically an Aristocrat I recently got in a trade. This razor reminds me of the one my Dad used, though his had lost most of the plating. The razor performed well... I got a great shave with three passes as I'm getting used to the lighter weight.
This was also my second use of B&M Lavanille, and the scent was even better because I bloomed it with some hot water while I prepped. This has become a favorite almost immediately. I go back and smell it several times a day.

    Prep: ATG
    Soap: B&M Lavanille
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: 1946-47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Personna lab blue (1)
