Well since it is your birthday, you know the old wheel of regalement is brought out and has come up with this ...
I am getting to know my slim right now, but i have a schick on the way and I really love my MMOC. But Im not gonna do SEptember =P
Brush: Van Der Hagen Badger Razor: Gillette FB (f1) 1960 (5) Blade: Feather (1) Mug: Van Der Hagen Cream: Cella Post shave: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, Jack Black gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1980 AS (gift from my father in law) FB still on 5 as it has been working great for me. The VDH Badger whipped up some nice lather in the VDH mug. Another nice acceptable shave in 2 passes WTG XTG and then 1 pass ATG on my neck. Splash of WH, cleanup, Jack Black gel and some OS and it's off to the shooting range with my family. You know what they say in Texas, "The family that shoots together stays together"!
First shave with a vintage decided to do my first SOTD post. Hot shower Pre Shave: Nivea face wash Soap: Cella Brush: Burma boar brush. Razor: 64 Gillette Slim Set on 3 Blade: Crystal (3) Post: Alum, T.N. Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva, Nivea post shave balm Great shave little irritating have to used to the new razor. I love this razor.
Welcome to the Den, and choosing a Gillette Adjustable as your first Vintage razor. Be warned, it will be difficult to use anything else IMHO. Enjoy the ride!
SoS - Sunday, September 21, 2014 Cool shower Prep: Homemade PSO Brush: Simpsons Duke 3 Soap: Cella Razor: Merkur 38C Blade: Derby (3) Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum with Limes and Peppercorns The combination of Cella and the Duke produced surprisingly weak lather this morning. I don't know if I added too little/much water, but my results were bubbly, thin, and dissipated quickly. Throw in a Derby blade that is far from my favorite, and you get a challenging shave. I gave up after my lather did, at two passes and settled for a CCS. And that's being generous only because I did not open any nicks or weepers. I'm hoping for better luck tomorrow. - Don
Sunday Prep: wash with Clear Essentials glycerin soap Soap: Petal Pusher Fancies "Scentsless" Brush: Whipped Dog synthetic Razor: Gillette Tech Blade: Personna Med Prep After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion Easy, smooth shave.
Thanks Obi! It is actually a lather Mug that came as a set. There is a brush and trac II razpr with it. See the photo below: The ship design is copied on to all three pieces. It's pretty hard to photograph this without a glare from the flash but you get the idea.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. A ride would have been very nice, but instead I spent the day with my family. As much as I love riding, I love spending time with my family even more. Besides, I have a solo trip to the mountains in a couple of weeks.
