    What is this Adjustable week?

Prep - Garnier Dry Skin Face Wash
    Lather - Craftsman Unscented
    Brush- Semogue 1250
    Razor - Gramps Black Beauty
    Blade - Red
    Post - Nivea Replenishing Balm

Aside from a few weepers and on nick above my right ear this was one good shave. I just hate to keep typing these long product names. I have barely used my Omega since getting my Semogue , and to think that neither is broken in yet. But I love that brush.

Early start to a very long day at the office and dinner tonight. Love the Proraso SC; I could use it all the time and be happy. The Cranes treated me tenderly this morning and the cool citrus scent of the GB Lotion and Lime Sec finished very well. Have a great week Gentlemen! :happy005:

    9/22/2014 Menthol Monday!!

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: Stahly Live Blade chrome, H Boker Master Razor straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Brush: HJM Black Fibre
Soap: Barbon with 3 drops of TSD MBomb menthol additive
After: Home made ASB, Barbon after shave
Cologne: Francis Kurkdjian - Absolue Pour Le Soir

I reached way back in the cabinet this morning to find the Stahly live blade. The Barbon cream kept my face protected and cool. The Barbon AS kept the cool feeling going. The Absolue Pour Le Soir adds some funk to the day. I did end up with a Darn Fine Shave + for my efforts.

    Have a blessed day!

    Prep: Gaia face scrub
    Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
    Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery
Razor: Gillette new open comb (long)
    Blade: Ladas
    soap: My French Soap Mix
    Post: alum sprayed on
    Witch Hazel: Generic unscented
    AS: Sampson's all natural

Another fine shave. This combination of technique, soap, blade, razor and prep choices works excellent for me. Virtually every time it is a 3 pass near bbs with no nicks, weepers or irritation.

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Obsidian
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Dorco 300 (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

As I still have some Dorco-300 blades tucked away from my initial variety pack to find a good blade for me, I figured I'd revisit them now that my technique is better. As before, the biggest issue I have with them is the inconsistency of the blade's edges; one side was smooth as glass, while the other was clearly rougher. Everyone probably knows by now just how frigid the Stirling Glacial line is, but I'm still having trouble, as a face-latherer, making it provide quite as much cushion as I'd like. I know Rod's how-to video talks about the soaps being designed as puck-lathering products, so it may be that I'm simply not the ideal market for his product. Three passes produced one weeper , no irritation as of yet (face still frozen), and DFS+ results.

That Stahly is one stubby handle. Have you ever used the vibrating feature of this razor and if so do you notice a difference in shave quality?

I do use the vibration mode. The vibration does make the blade slide across my skin more easily. The shave quality is about the same as the rest of my razors. The big handle does make the razor heavy. I have to be careful to use light pressure while shaving.

    Monday 22.09.2014

    Good Evening.
It has been a busy week with very little time to shave and with no available time to report back to the Mothership. Luckily for me I’ve had a great shave and good time to make my report.

I have been trying lately to pick items that I have not used in a while, and today I have picked two items that have a pretty good reputation in the wet shaving community; The Iridium Super blade and the L’Occitane Shave Soap.
For me the blade has never been a favourite, while the soap has mixed between showing its greatness and surprising me with its “mediocreness”
Today this soap showed itself from its very best side and gave me a wonderful and slick lather.

The blade was no worse, and cut through my two day beard like it was not even there. The pairing with the EJ de89 was outstanding and very efficient. Even though it managed to give me a (in)decent cut just below my lower lip, I would have to say that this blade and this razor have taken a real liking to one another and is working together in perfect tandem and blissful harmony.
When splashing my face with the lovely Lucido aftershave, I felt neither sting, nor burn. Although I enjoy a good AS burn, it may also be a sign of a rough shave. Especially with this aftershave

Another great team was the soap and the Semogue 1305 brush. The latter has never impressed me much, but today you may colour me impressed. Great lather after just a 15 second load, and with enough for at least three passes…

Face Soap: Fitjar Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Edwin Jagger de89
    Blade: Iridium Super
    Soap: L’Occitane Cade
    Brush: Semogoue 1305
    Aftershave Lotion: Lucido
    Aftershave Balm: Nivea

Thank you Sir for such quick and noble feedback. Based on the high praise from such a fine Gentleman as yourself, I have to acquire one for myself.
I used to own one too, but I gave it away to my heathen brother who still prefers cartridge shaving, even after I have shown him the joy that is traditional shaving.

It is not as flexible as the plisson it's much stiffer=) but i cant really compare them. They are 2 different brushes =P plus its not very expensive. I got it so I can have a travel brush. But it performs very well. I have used it a couple of days now =D
