picked up a 83 gillette super adjustable. This razor has been really good to me right off the start, still playing with the adjustments.

Very nice "Black Beauty" you have there. Remember to open the doors before you adjust it. With the heavy head on the adjustables I just let the weight of the razor do the work, with very little preasure. Enjoy!:eatdrink047:

Very nice. One of the few razors that I from time to time still consider buying.

Welcome to the bandwagon. Nice super adjustable. Good thing you were born when Gillette still made good razors.

    I'm searching for a 64
j2, they seem to allude me.
I have an inherited slim, dads super adjustable.
either a short black beauty,a white twist, or something a little different. I'm searching.

Just keep looking. It took me a long time to get my BYR.

Didn't they start the production of Black Beauties in 1966?

Black Handle Super Speed, started in 1966
Black Handle Super Adjustable started in 1967 (in 1977 the bottom plate becomes black plastic)

I hope I got my years right.

    you probably did
I had been thinking about a birth year razor
but I have a slim and super speed , so I really don't need two.
    I'm pretty sure the twist
    came out in 64
hadn't thought when the beauties started, so their out.
maybe I'll just stay off the birth year bandwagon

This chart makes it pretty easy to find when a certain model was in production:
